"I wish I had read these reviews before. VT under water, no offer to refund monies paid. Working through it with the cc company. Horrible people."
"IF I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE A ZERO I WOULD. I am very frustrated with my stay at a Vacasa rental. When I first walked in anyone could tell that the house was FILTHY it looked like no one had cleaned it in years, also the walls were dirty, the fridge was not clean and had water bottles and cheese left in it, the garbage was not cleaned, and the washing machine was filled with dirty towels . On top of that, there was no internet what so ever meaning my family and I could not do any online work, watch tv or even send messages on our phones. The sink was also leaking and had a tray under it meaning the owner knew about the leak, the beds felt like sandpaper and there were random chunks of dirt everywhere. When I tried to contact someone about this the general manager Andre, he told me I was being rude for complaining. When someone came to fix the internet he told us it was not fixable and needed the owner to fix it. This house was NOT livable and so we were forced to move to another house meaning we had to pack up EVERYTHING. on top of that we had to wait two hour to get into this gated community because of Vacasa’s negligence and refusal to do their jobs and there slowness. Not to mention we had an elderly person on oxygen who should be put into a house as soon as possible at this point it was medical neglect. When we got to the SECOND house and all the carpets were disgusting and dirty. We spent most of our “vacation” dealing with issues. Their staff was no help except for Thomas the maintenance guy who actually helped and listened to our problems. Their costumer service sucks. With Vacasa you get dirty homes provided by dirty people."
"Company will not give refunds to those unable to travel due to a major storm. Dont waste your time using this greedy, uncaring company"
"We stayed in Seaview Fire Island. Our group consisted of adults from age 33-62. On our second night one member of our party went to do laundry which is located in a separate building that is off of the house connected by a bridge walkway. She went to lean on the railing and it fell apart resulting in her falling 6-8 feet. We had to call 911 and have her checked by EMTs. It resulted in bruises and swelling of her face and overall soreness. (She will be seeking further medical attention by her primary doctor now that we are home) A member from Vacasa did come to the house that evening but was very cold regarding the whole situation. They offered us a refund if we were to cut our vacation short for unused evenings. We requested a full refund for the negligence of property upkeep and were denied. There was absolutely no reason for a railing to give way like that and this incident could have easily resulted in permanent bodily injury or death. We would never stay at a Vacasa property again. Other than that the house as a whole was dirty, was unsafe for dogs or kids (inside stairs are steep and railing is unstable) and we found several coackroaches, the house had no hair dryer and the bicycles were broken. When I brought the other concerns to the property manager her response was "I'm sorry you have had a less than desirable experience" with no offer on how to fix or replace any of those items. Also- no fire detectors in the house. Spots for them but they were empty."
"We rented this house for my birthday. Upon check in, the doors were unlocked because on the one door that had a key, the lock did not engage. This means that housekeeping was well aware of the problem and did absolutely nothing about it. Three out of six sliding glass doors did not lock or function. One, as stated, the lock did not engage so you could not use the key, meaning you could not leave the house locked when you left the property and your valuables had to be left inside an unlocked home, or taken with you wherever you went. A second door was entirely off of the track, serving no purpose at all. One sliding glass door in the master bedroom was missing the lock altogether, but instead, had a piece of red tape "securing" the door LOL. Stop. Check-in was 4pm, so I called the main number and got nowhere. I reached out to the property manager, Kori Iversen, who supposedly contacted the property owner and offered me a $100 restaurant credit, as if my safety was going to be ensured by a food credit. On day 2, after I finally got through to someone who at least sounded like they wanted to help, I was told that the maintenance crew leaves the island at 4pm (it was after 4) so I would have to wait til the following morning for a resolve. Well, that was more than half of my vacation at that point. The lady from Murtha maintenance basically said fire island is safe and she knows all of the previous renters and "they are all really nice people" so I should feel safe. I guarantee she, and the rest of the Vacasa staff, lock their doors at night when the go to sleep, and when they leave during the day to protect their valuables. So sure, fire island is a safe community, but all it takes is one bad apple of a renter to use it to their advantage that that house was not secured. Eventually I was given a 10% refund. I know I didn't rent the nicest house on the block, but locking doors are really not too much to ask for. Shame on Vacasa. Additionaly, for mother earths sake, the toilet in the master bedroom runs constantly. No, that didn't have a negative impact on my stay, but that wastes THOUSANDS of gallons of water annually. Just fix the damn toilet."
