Reviews
"The number of students Chris Teare has skillfully guided through the college process is staggering! Yet each student and family always gets specific one-on-one attention, honest feedback, veteran insight/wisdom/connections that few others in college admissions possess, his ability to see empathetically through multiple lenses, a clear understanding of the complexities of financial aid tailored to each family, and someone that cares deeply. Chris remains a dedicated and trusted leader in college admissions and an inspiration to college counselors like me!"
"Chris was truly an anchor in helping us navigate the college process! As a parent with a child in a giant urban school with limited resources, Chris took on the enormous task of translating the potential options for my son and I. He suggested types of colleges and universities to tour in our state, which then gave us a flavor of the options we had out-of-state. He broke down the financial aid process for our unique situation and encouraged us to dig in and learn about every available opportunity out there. His guidance, advice, wisdom, and insight were absolutely invaluable. Thank you!"
"Chris Teare has been in the college & career readiness game for a long time! I’ve been privileged enough to work with him on both sides of the desk and have always appreciated the depth of knowledge and experience he brings to conversations with students and families. It’s a combination of his honest, “feel-good” stories and careful candidness that make him a trustworthy voice throughout any student’s college admission process."
"Mr. Teare was my college counselor and helped me so much throughout the process! He is so motivating and knowledgeable about the college application process and helps you at every step of the way. He helped me not only decide on what schools to apply to but played a huge part in helping me prep my application to Tulane University. I am very grateful for Mr. Teare and believe he played a huge role in helping me get into Tulane! I am about to go into my senior year and could not imagine going anywhere else!"
"Prior to meeting Mr. Teare, I had given very little thought to the idea of going to college. I had always done well in school, but not many people around me were talking about college, its requirements, the application process, or choosing schools. Being a first-generation college student there were also no resources at home to help guide me through this life-changing decision and process. Mr. Teare not only introduced me to the idea of going to college, but he also took us (my fellow classmates and I) on a college tour, helped us tirelessly along the application process, and even recommended schools that he knew would be good fits for students depending on their grades, background, and overall desires. He recommended Georgetown University to me, and it was the perfect choice. To some extent, he knew me more than I knew myself during the college application process. Georgetown was the perfect mix of academic and social, city life mixed with art and culture, political, but still about the humanities, religion, and sciences. Mr. Teare was a driving force in encouraging me to take this big step in life and even after I had been accepted to Georgetown University, I still always felt supported by him. He helped along the financial aid process to ensure that I could afford this great opportunity and even helped me to apply to scholarships that I didn't even know were available to me. He ensured that resources were available to students to help them make the transition from high school to college and from leaving the small and quaint life of the Virgin Islands to taking on the new challenges of living in cities all throughout the United States. Whether it was local, national, or international schools, Mr. Teare somehow knew how to be of assistance to all his students. In 2013 I graduated from Georgetown University, in 2018 I graduated with my master’s degree from American University, and I just recently graduated from Officer Candidate School to now be a Second Lieutenant in the DC Army National Guard. At every step of the way I have continued to feel the support from Mr. Teare and the long-lasting impact that his work had on me over a decade ago. He consistently goes above and beyond and knows how to get people excited about higher education, even in spaces where it is discussed very little. While the college application process can be daunting for many, he made it easy and even enjoyable at times. His efforts will forever be appreciated."
