"Very unfriendly unreasonable rude. Not looking to do business. Message me if you want to sell gold or silver I will pay spot + Thats more than this shop pays."
"This gentleman knows his stuff- numismatist- looking forward to my next appointment."
"My two young sons have recently taken up an interest in coin collecting…we live in town and finally had some free time last weekend to go to the coin shop after weeks of pleading, they eagerly had their wallets in hand while bouncing up to the door only to see the sign saying ‘by appointment only’ and the door was locked. I called the number and the man who answered the phone was very gruff to the point of rudeness, even though I told him we were right outside and the place was clearly empty (and we could see him behind the counter), he said he had no appointments that day (they were open for another 4 hours). He also still said masks were required (there is a lengthy sign indicating that on the door) which surprised me given that most doctors and even some hospitals no longer require them…I no longer carry them with me however and he insisted they were necessary for an appointment. My boys were devastated. I begrudgingly made an appointment for the following week but am going to cancel today. I have located several other shops within 30 minutes of town that we will patronize instead. My father was a well known coin writer and a lifelong collector and I want my boys to keep the hobby alive, not be soured by it, the interaction with this gentleman already left a bad taste in their mouths as well as mine. We will shop elsewhere."
"I've passed this shop thousands of times and always wanted to go in as a coin collector. And also wanted to value some of the coins that I had in person. Decided to drive over there today with some of my stuff. I go to walk in and the door is locked. The guy behind the counter motions at the door which I try again apparently he has to buzz me in. So he does so, and I walk in and he angrily says you don't have an appointment. To which I said I wasn't aware I needed one. He said that's what all the signs say read the signs. Mind you the only signs that you can see from the road are the two signs that say open. There are some white pieces of paper under the neon open sign but you can't make those out and I still don't know what they say. He was extremely rude right off the bat and I ended the entire experience right there and then and just left. 10 out of 10 would never go back here again. I can't believe any business owner would immediately be that rude with a new customer out of the clear blue sky. If I had let it, that interaction alone could have ruined my day. Do not give this guy any of your business. I would drive hours to go to a different coin shop."
"I'm a local who visits here quite often. Bill, who owns this shop seems quiet and a little gruff at first, but boy does he know his stuff. Respect him and call him sir and he'll take care of you. he'll respect you, and help you find exactly what you're looking for. It's a small shop and he focuses primarily on ungraded numismatics but does also have some generic bullion in the back, Don't be afraid to ask if you don't see something you are interested in. His hours are odd but if you go during business hours Monday-Friday he should be open. I will be returning tomorrow for some cull Morgan dollars. Overall I would recommend. Cheers. -Dan"
