"We’re so lucky to have SDE in the neighborhood. The food is real and clearly cooked with love. My wife loves their Rasta pasta, and I like trying different things each time. Their callaloo dish is amazing. They definitely get this white boy’s Seal of Approval."
"Food was GREAT! Fast and we got a lot of food in our plate. They did not skim on the ox tail for the price. I love that they plated the food heavy. Most places don't give you minimal for the price. Food hit. We sat and ate. Quiet, clean, chill. Worth every penny. 5 out of 5 for me."
"This place needs to be on everyone’s food list! Went here for lunch because I live close by and I was not disappointed. I got the small stew chicken. First off, they do not mess around with portions. Even my small was packed to the brim with deliciousness. The rice has this faint delicious coconut flavor and the stew chicken had me literally sucking on bones to get all the flavor (SO GOOD). Also, the chicken literally fell off the bones it was so juicy. Plantains were cooked just the way I love them. No complaints! I’ll definitely be back!"
"For all the things New Haven does have, I didn't expect to find authentic (and delicious) Caribbean food. I've been eyeballing this place for a little while now and I finally went. The curried goat is amazing. The rice and peas is perfect, and the cabbage slaw is absolutely delightful. Paired with a funny and kind person behind the counter, and even though I was only picking food up, i had a good enough time that i can not recommend this place enough. Go there, get a taste of home, or a taste of something you e never had before, but either way, enjoy. This place is worth it. I can't wait to go back and try more of my favorite Jamaican dishes!"
"We stopped by to pick up a meal on Sunday Dinner Everyday’s fourth evening in business. They were still putting the finishing touches on the space— we arrived before the tables had, before the protective film had been peeled off the TV screens— and I am so glad that they didn’t wait a moment longer before opening their doors so that the community could enjoy their delicious food. I chose the jerk chicken, and my husband the curry chicken. They were the kind of yummy that reminds you of home, and generously portioned to boot. It’s exciting to see a restaurant pop up in the Wooster Square area that brings us flavors from beyond Italy’s borders, and having a takeout option like this will surely be a game changer for those days we work from home. We’ll be back soon!"
