"This jewelers is now my favorite! I wanted my original diamond reset because it kept breaking. I had brought it to another jeweler that promised to give me an estimate of cost within 1 week. I decided to stop in to P and J to see what they could offer. They were so nice and professional! Not only did they have the band I wanted but they added my diamond, fixed my old wedding band and resized both rings within 2 hours and at half the estimated cost of the other place! "Story first - cold day - finger shrunk a little - helped a mom on the highway with two kids in the car that had a flat tire - wedding band slipped off and I didn’t realize until my hand warmed up. "I wish there were a few more stars because Five isn't enough. We had some tough choices to make about some closely held family related items that we were looking to appraise for resale. John and staff looked at our collection and right away knew what he was looking at and the experience just got better from there. He carefully went through our items and informed us what was of value and what was "recyclable". The thing that got me was not how he treated us, although it was wonderful, but how he treated the other customers. While we were there, a young woman came in with some sterling items she wanted to have a quick appraisal for personal purposes. John examined her items and while they were not Rodeo Drive quality, he respectfully and knowledgeably informed her that her items were of value, even if they didn't yield a boat load of cash. She didn't sell but she did walk away with an understanding that while her treasures would not be found in Donald Trump's home, they were of value and she was an important customer. We stopped at one of the chain stores prior to visiting John at PJ's and were told our items were junk and valued at less than $200. John looked at the lot of our items and gave us $1000 Plus. Holy More than we expected Batman! All levity aside, John is knowledgeable, his staff friendly and accommodating, his shop is secure and his location is in the heart of Connecticut's Jewelry District in picturesque downtown Middletown. I can't gush enough about our experience and if you think you want to get some cash for gold, need a special item for the special someone or just want an expert opinion about some of your jewelry, PJ Jewelers is the place to go.
