"One of the larger bakeries in the City of Bridgeport. They have bread, cakes, pastries and cookies. In addition this also is a lunch spot, they offer various types of hot and cold sandwiches."
"I have been going here for the past few years and over the time the service has declined in this store the two spanish speaking ladies like to pick and choose who’s orders they take, I was in line this morning and they took the next guys order while i was next in line than had another worker come take me order when someone was already at the register, & it’s continually everytime I’m ordering , I was here one afternoon next in line and they went to take the order of everybody else who were all spanish & the other lady in there the african american lady has shown nothing but respect and gratitude towards me everytime i come in."
"The customer service was alright and they had a pretty large selection of different deserts. The main issue was the deserts I got. The chocolate icing on the eclairs is the same as the icing on cheap store bought cupcakes. The carrot cake was practically the same as any store bought carrot cake. The crème brûlée was the worst part. I’m no pastry chef or expert but this crème Brûlée was terrible. The texture was far too rubbery and it was not sweet at all. To be fair, the prices weren’t that bad for what I got. I wouldn’t really recommend going here unless you want pastries of the same quality as in the supermarket."
"You Motherf%*$er's!!! This is literally the 3rd time I find a bug in my families bread! I say family because I'm not buying it just for myself! I have a wife, 4 daughters, and two sons that i would have loved making a complete breakfast for but for the 3rd time, i trusted in Chaves Bakery! How in the world do you not inspect your product to the fullest detail to make sure nothing like this ever happens and to know that you also deal with the Bridgeport, CT Public School System as well, this will not go unheard or unresolved! (THIS PIC IS FROM THE MADISON AVE LOCATION BUT MY LAST TWO BAKED-ON BUG EXPERIENCES CAME FROM THE STATE ST LOCATION) Will update more pics from the cloud on my last experience soon!!!! #stayaway #chavesbakery #poison"
"I've not had a bad experience there. But I don't frequent this one as often as the one on king's why (which is great). They have more variety than Madison Ave, more space than kings hwy. I got what I needed fairly quickly. Only thing I can say negatively is they need to clean up the items in the glass display. The thing about glass displays is us customers can see it all. So every cookie that'd fallen out its dish, every empty tray with crumbs and frosting left behind, could be seen. I got 2 black and white cookies. Some cannolis and 2 cupcakes. They were super fresh and nicely packed. Those black and whites are my weakness - "Look to the cookie!""
