"This place is the worst do not go here!!! The owner Chinese guy is terrible! I went there today 9/12/23 wanted to add a name to my chain he was very rude and only wanted me to spend more money! Didn’t really care about my idea that I was trying to create a necklace for my mom. Just wanted money!! Very disappointed. Terrible customer service."
"I purchased 2 gold chains there before. Went to get the lobster clasp fixed for one. Left with the chain on my neck. About 30 mins later I realized it was a different chain! It was a bit longer, but hollow! Same weight tho. Went back and of course he’s saying he did nothing wrong. BE VERY CAUTIOUS doing business here! I would avoid it entirely! I went to look at the reviews and sure enough someone had the same problem. If you have to get repairs have it weighed and get the length while you’re there in front of you before and after! Take pics too! This Loss turned to a Lessen!"
"This is an Asian-owned jewelry store that’s dated and sells low quality overpriced gaudy gold jewelry in downtown New Haven. They treat their customers poorly and don’t warranty any of their jewelry and they simply just want your money. We had a problem with a necklace we purchased and they did not care to fix the issue. Absolutely no returns or exchanges even if it’s their fault. Think before you purchase because once you give them your money and walk out that door it’s your problem. We regret shopping here."
"The shopkeeper shortened my watch bracelet perfectly in a matter of minutes. He charged me $10, which was a fair price for something I could have never done on my own. I was very satisfied with my experience at Nims."
"First off, you CAN'T RETURN OR EXCHANGE anything that you've bought here. I bought a pair of $42 earrings for my girlfriend on 1/9/2014. I traveled to New York over the weekend, and gave them to her. She was happy, and wanted to put them on. Upon taking on out and putting it through her ear, we saw that the metal post that goes through the ear had bent diagonally. She decided to put the second one on, but upon taking it out of the paper sheet that held it in place, the metal post that goes through the ear broke right in half. Of course she was devastated, and I assured her that I would exchange them for a new pair. Well, I brought them back on 1/15/2014. The manager heard my story, and then told me that it was my problem, as he sold them completely intact. I told him that less than a week had passed, and they had already broken (indeed, they broke a couple days after I bought them). He said that I should have brought them back immediately, and when I informed him that I was in New York for the weekend and couldn't do so, said that I should have called the store and explained what happened. He said there was nothing he could do. I told him that I was going to report him to the Better Business Bureau and asked for his name, and before giving it to me, he asked for MY name (very rude). Overall he acted like I wasn't a customer that had paid $42 for a pair of shitty earrings, but rather somebody who was just irritating him. I left in disgust. I DO NOT recommend buying anything from this store."
