"I NEVER usually write reviews but after what happened to me there today, I had to write one about this place. So I called Craig's Jewelers and asked if someone would be willing to take a look at a lab diamond I purchased online to make sure the information I recieved on it was accurate, and they told me they could absolutely help me out. So, I rallied my two kids and drove 30 minutes to Craig's in Ridgefield. When I walked in, a man (the owner) approached me and asked me what I had...I told him it was a diamond I purchased online that I was hoping someone could take a look at...he responded with, "why did you purchase it online instead of at a local jewelers?" And I said somewhat timidly, "because the local jewelers are too expensive." (Now, mind you, Craig's does not sell any lab grown diamonds, which are 80 or 90 percent less than the cost of mined diamonds...and I CERTAINLY cannot afford mined diamonds so I was being honest about my personal situation). At that point, the owner completely snubbed me and told me he didn't care about what I had with me and that he absolutely will not take a look at it. I wasn't sure if he was kidding or not because it caught me so off-guard. It was only a few minutes later that I realized how serious he was when he continued to shame me in front of a customer he was working with by repeating the fact that I didn't purchase a diamond from them or even take a look at their costs (which I already knew were above my price range because they were all mined diamonds). He then said that I said THEY (Craig's Jewelers) were too expensive when in actuality I was speaking generally about local jewelers who only sell mined diamonds because I personally can't afford them. I did not say a word in response to him the entire time from when he first started berading me and quickly picked up my two children who were with me and walked out feeling completely shocked and embarrassed about the entire encounter. I couldn't believe that I called in advance and was advised to come in to be utterly shamed and judged by the owner and then practically kicked out. I am 100 percent ALL FOR supporting local businesses and understand completely how important that is (I support several around Ridgefield and my mother actually owns a local business there), but unfortunately, in this situation, I just wasn't able to afford to do that. I have also recieved many gifts from family over the years from Craig's and now I can't imagine ever wanting to recieve anything from them again. I will not be returning. One of the worst experiences I have ever had in public (felt like I was some sort of stray dog that entered their shop and they were disgusted with me). Would give zero stars if I could."

"Billy and the staff at Craig's are friendly, attentive, and take care of their customers whether they are making a purchase or asking for a minor repair or cleaning. My ring and necklaces were repaired quickly and the cost was more than reasonable. I will definitely be giving them my business going forward."
