Valvoline Instant Oil Change

"I just went to Valvoline for the very first time for an oil change, and I just want to give a shout out to Sharif, Mya, and Johnny, who I never saw because he’s the one that was actually doing the oil change. Sharif took all my information, and Mya was my hood tech. Both are very pleasant and friendly people. Sharif gave me information on what would keep my car running at peak performance. He didn’t try to upsell, and he kept it very real! Even though this cost a little bit more than where I normally go, I think I’d go back, and very possibly become a regular customer. My apologies if I spelt anyone’s name wrong"

"Fast, prompt service with entertainment from the knowledgeable staff. They didn’t try to sell me any unnecessary services but kept it real, and recommended services that would keep my classic car running smoothly."

"They broke a piece off our vehicle, making it undrivable. WE found the piece to replace it unless we wanted to wait until after the weekend, or to have the mechanic bondo the piece on to try to make it home to Michigan and then get it fixed after. Now they dont want to compensate what so ever. Saying we weren't "majorly inconvenienced" when we're from out of state and had to get picked up. The "extra" stuff they had to do, HAD to be done to make the car drive safely again after damaging it. I'm beyond furious and will never be back."

"I took my vehicle to the Groton Valvoline for an oil change October 19, 2023. The gentleman helping me was very kind and very thorough. After he took all my information he had walked away to work on another vehicle, while the guy in the pit was finishing up. As I was waiting I felt the vehicle shaking, and I heard banging. I expressed my concern to one of the lube techs and he said that there is nothing wrong and the tech was just finishing up. Soon after the tech assured me that the vehicle was OK, I saw another lube tech in front of my vehicle signaling something was broken with his hands to the guy in the office. Shortly after he closed my hood and had me pull. Once I had pulled out of the bay I got out of my vehicle and asked the techs once again what the banging was. They had stated my skid plate was not secured properly but they had fixed it. I went on to say that the skid plate did not need to be touched to drain the oil. The response I got was that the guy in the pit was new and did not know. One of the techs told me that he assures my vehicle was the same as it came in and if I’d like I could look at the vehicle when I got home to see. After driving home, I looked under the vehicle to find my skid plate, zip tied together and oil all over the skid plate. Not only that but the hardware that was supposed to secure the skid plate was missing. I got back in my vehicle and headed back to Valvoline where I was greeted once again and told that I would not be given a refund. After experiencing this level of unprofessionalism, I do not recommend anyone to visit this establishment."

"Some Valvoline's get a bad rep and I'm not sure why? Joey the manager and all the crew at this location have been giving me and my finances vehicles 5 star service for the 7 years I've lived in Groton. So fast friendly and efficient I'm usually in and out in 15 minutes or less. Everything has a process and you can tell from the calls they make to each other to the writing on your filter they show the camera. I love it. Thanks Valvoline !"
