"My husband and I absolutely love Garten!! We’ve been there a few times now and love the food and cocktails. All of the food we’ve ordered has been super unique, small plate style of food and very fresh tasting. Everything has such great flavor! I wasn’t sure how I would like the German style, and was hesitant to go when I saw “beer garden” (since I’m not a beer person) but it’s been great and the menu always has plenty of options and lots of great cocktails! The first time we went, I ordered a fall type salad with squash and goat cheese for dinner thinking it would just be an average salad. I couldn’t believe how much flavor was in such a simple salad and I couldn’t stop thinking about it all week lol! I also ordered the Garten dirt for dessert and it was 5 stars. Like a sophisticated version of the type from childhood- so good!! I order it every time I go now lol. The atmosphere is so beautiful- like a true garden. I’m super excited to go back in warmer weather and sit outside on their cute patio! All of the staff who have served us were extremely friendly and helpful in suggestions of things to try. I’m so happy they’re located conveniently in Severna Park so that we don’t have to drive into a city for great food! Plenty of parking. I can’t wait to go back for this Valentine’s Day! Definitely would highly recommend checking this place out if you haven’t yet, and like more modern style restaurants!! It’s a vibe! (Don’t get it twisted, this isn’t Outback)"

"Garten is such a nice place! My family and I just left after trying to find places around to eat and my brother suggested Garten and they did not disappoint in any aspect. The atmosphere was laid back and quiet, and each staff member we encountered were all super friendly and kind! And the food was absolutely amazing (*The Brie Wich was delicious!) Overall definitely feel like giving 5 stars isn't enough, would recommend Garten if you're around the area."

"Delicious food and amazing beers in a warm yet classy ambiance. My mom and I split a few dishes - fried fish sandwich, sauerbraten, a fall salad, and a black forest cake, and everything was just great. The photos are of just my half of the dishes, so don't worry about the size of the portions."

"I’ve now been to Garten 4 times and I would probably give it 2.5 stars overall. I have had 2 good and 2 bad experiences. The first bad one was soon after they opened so we didn’t think too much of it because obviously it takes a while for everything to work smoothly. 2nd visit was nice - food and frozen drinks were good, we were a larger group and everything went quite well. 3rd visit almost 3 weeks ago was great - my husband and I went on a lunch date, the kiwi mint frozen cocktail was amazing, buratta appetizer was perfect (the pickle appetizer for $9 seems overpriced for what it is); the server (a lady with medium length brown hair, maybe late 30’s or early 40’s was very nice). We were so happy that we decided to repeat the lunch date last Friday. The hostess, a younger girl, took us to a small corner table by the wood plank wall (the busy street and traffic noise is right behind it) and next to a utility kitchen cart..we were hoping to have a more romantic vibe so asked if it would be possible to sit at one of the picnic tables (just like last time), she made an annoyed face and said sure. The outdoor area wasn’t crazy busy, maybe 5 other couples?! A family came after us and got their drinks served before we were even seen by a waitress/waiter - we couldn’t shake the feeling that we were basically punished for not sitting where they wanted us to sit. It took someone over 15min to finally come and give us the menus - she did say sorry but no explanation whether they’re short staffed or some other issues (we’re typically not super high maintenance, always have lovely experiences as we go out a lot). Drinks and food arrived in a pretty timely manner (the place was getting busier at this point), I was surprised how small the piece of bread for the burrata was this time (it was a good sized slice last time, I’ll post pictures for comparison). We asked for the check once we were done, gave our card and didn’t get it back for over 30minutes! It was the most bizarre thing - the waitress was back and forth but literally seemed to want to ignore us (it was not the same lady from our last visit). When I went in to look for someone to help us, the hostess was not there and people were waiting to be seated (this was also the case when I went to use the bathroom). It’s such a shame that a beautiful place like this is not reaching its full potential - yes, I absolutely love the burrata (but that’s pretty much the only food item) and some of their drinks but for the price and unpredictable service, we probably will go to other places. Severna Park seriously lacks restaurants with really good food with a nice view!! How very odd for such an expensive town."

"What a wonderful place to have brunch on a Sunday. Bright atmosphere and lots of natural decor make it a great place to relax while you dine. Their Schnitzel Sandwich is so good that you won't even put it down once you take the first bite. Make sure you bring your appetite if you have the Challah Stuffed French Toast. It was almost more than one person could handle. Make sure to start off with the Smoked Salmon Dip starter, as it will get you excited for what's to come. You can really see and taste the passion that is put into the food by their chef. Next visit, I will make sure to try their recommended desert as I was so full from the wonderful food.
