Reviews of Dependable Hydraulics Services
"Quick, friendly, and cost effective. I walked in, they took my old hydraulic hose, 5 min and 25 bucks later I had a high quality custom replacement in my hand. Very friendly and interesting staff."
"Called the shop before bringing in a skid steer attachment to get an idea of pricing being 100% aware that the pricing was not guaranteed but looking for an idea. I was told to figure around $400 per cylinder as and idea. There were 4 cylinders that I told them I wanted repaired and to disregard the other ones. I then brought the attachment and dropped it off at the shop for them to take their measurements for replacing or repairing the cylinders because apparently they couldn't find the info online (The owners have the identical attachment). They then called to tell me they had no way of operating the cylinders to determine the length of them, what kind of hydraulic shop can't operate cylinders and thats most of their business? So they said they needed to remove the cylinders from the machine to slide them in and out for measurements which I ok'd. I then don’t hear anything for a week or two and multiple calls Tony finally emailed me a quote for $4,628.00 Now 4 cylinders x $400 is $1,600 plus some cost to take them off the machine no where near $4600. I stopped at the shop that afternoon to discuss and Tony told me it took them 8 hrs to take the cylinders off. 2 bolts and 2 hoses each cylinder took 8 hrs? Then we walk into the back room where I see that every cylinder on the machine is not only taken off but also completely disassembled which I never ok'd. We started arguing over the work completed and the cost and how the numbers don’t add up so he does some clicking on the computer and now says they spent 13hrs disassembling the machine. I tell them to put the machine back together and I’ll take my business somewhere else, he responded saying I can take it as it sits and pay $400 or continue with their services. I call my boss and after talking with him and arguing with Tony, he dropped the price to $3,800. My boss said to continue and he’ll pay for it. A few weeks go by when Tony calls and says it’s ready for pickup. I ask them if they can load it on a trailer if I come by with one. He says they have no way of moving the attachment. I pay a friend to tow our skid steer to the site so we can pick up the attachment. Once there I’m told the attachment has no fluid in it and that they didn’t have any and the tank in the skid steer should have enough. As I go to close the backhoe attachment and the supply line spray hydraulic fluid all over the ground because they left the fittings loose. The mechanic tightens them then as I am lifting the main boom it blows a hydraulic line spraying all over the shop and directly into my friends face. Tony and the mechanic just stand there before the mechanic puts a rag over the spot spraying fluid. Tony then says I can leave the machine and pay for the hoses to be replaced on the whole machine. I pick up the attachment as best I could and drove out of the shop. I will never bring a piece of equipment to them again and strongly recommend no one else does. Between the cost being more than double and a hydraulic shop that doesn’t test any of their work before giving it back to a customer. And Tony just seeming like a untruthful person based on changing his answers once called out. I had a horrible experience and after all than I still have a leaking fitting and a blown hose that needs to be repaired."
"Our company has used Dependable Hydraulics several times now for our bridge saw. I could not be impressed by the service we received from Dan the technician. He was knowledgeable, professional and got the job done as soon as possible. We highly recommend him and this company."
"I had to take my snow plow in because it was broke. It ended up costing much more than expected but it was all honest expenses. Tony is the son of the owner. He did an absolute amazing job. I know he had at least 3-4 hours minimum above what he charged me. I do small mechanic work, and I know the time and cost. I am extremely pleased with this company and I would recommend them to anyone."
"I sent 3 cylinders down to Dependable Hydraulics at the end of September. On 28 Sept. I had an estimate for the cost of work at 6,300 for repacking. One rod ended up being bent so needed to be replaced. I sent one down to him 1 week later that needed to have approx. 2 feet cut off. On 12/1 (over 9 weeks later)I finally got my cylinders back and ended up with a bill 1,100 higher than quoted for additional work completed. That part is okay as additional work was clearly done. What is not okay, is that my cylinders were stuck at this shop for 9 weeks. Repeated calls with requests of getting these done only to be met with multiple "yeah they will be done tomorrow or the next days" that came and went. I had asked if there would be anything he could do when the bill came to $7,439 if I paid cash and he took 439 dollars (just under 6%, REALLY that was all for paying cash and waiting 9 weeks!) off the price. When I asked him "thats it after waiting all this time?" he claimed to have 70 hours into it but was only charging me for 30 already. So anybody that knows anything about repacking cylinders knows what he said is complete b.s. The work may or may not be quality, this I dont know yet but, what I do know is that I am starting a new company and if I was up and running when he took my cylinders he would have put me out of business for me not having my machine running for what would be 10 weeks (2 1/2 months including disassembly and assembly on my end). He actually had the audacity to tell me that if I needed anything else done to send it down and he would take care of it. I paid a significantly higher price than I would have paid at C & C and had to wait 9 weeks. Absolutely disgusted. I will never send anything else down to them again."
