West Marine

"Just bought a used boat. Docked across the street from this West Marine. I prefer giving my business to local brick and mortar businesses rather than the big online retailer. However today I got ripped off on 2 led bulbs. I went in for a standard nav light bulb. Told none available. Bought the 2 pack Led 10w bulbs. Was charged $47 for 2 bulbs. Got home later thinking let me check the prices elsewhere as that seemed pricey. I could have bought 4 led bulbs for what West Marine charged me for 2. If I don't hear back from the Manager or Owner with a satisfactory resolution, will never spend another penny at this store and I need lots of stuff for my used boat across the street. The staff was pleasant and helpful. No reflection on them."

"I am a professional cruiser on a 120' vessel and being new to the area I was faced with having to replace two 4D batteries that weren't carried in stock at the Stamford location, alas after calling around a finally the Norwalk location had 4 in stock and had a very comprehensive inventory of items too. The staff held the two for me and aided in bringing them to my vehicle once there. Very helpful and friendly to an out of town guy."

"I bought a pair of BlockTip sunglasses for $50 and the polarized layer came off the second time I went out sailing. Unfortunately, I didn’t keep the receipt (trusting the quality) and I couldn’t even get a refund. The sales rep even admitted this is a regular problem with the BlockTip glasses. Why are they selling it then? $50 out the window... I will never shop here again!!"
