Reviews of La Jaltera Mexican Food
"I ordered elote. The most bland elote I’ve ever had! Cheap cheese cheep mayo! The horchata had no flavor either ,i basically purchased water!"
"Mexican food truck. I had been looking for a good mangonada, and finally I found it at this truck!"
"The chicken wasn't seasoned but the toppings like cilantro and guacamole mask it a little until the flavorless chicken. I think all the food trucks are the same gimmick. Same foods made the same or slightly different."
"Birria tacos were the best we’ve had, even on the Texas/Mexico border. Elotes were also awesome. $20 for three Birria tacos and two elotes seemed like a lot but it was all delicious and fast service."
"I got the elote in a cup, a half chicken/half steak burrito and 2 diet cokes. I was surprised that the elote in a cup was very soupy, it had a decent taste but I was really hoping the corn was going to be grilled so I would recommend getting it on a stick if you go. In my burrito I had chicken, steak, rice, beans and avocado. They usually put lettuce in it but I got it without the lettuce. It was very hefty and the hot sauce automatically gave it a half star boost. It was definitely better with the hot sauce than without. It was definitely worth the price but I did have a few issues with it, which are all just personal preference things: 1) melted cheese on the top. I didn’t know it came with that or I would have told them not to do it, it just makes the burrito super greasy. 2) onions. There’s onions in the rice which normally I am completely against but luckily they hd very little flavor, the only thing that it really disturbed was the textures in my mouth. 3) the chicken and the steak didn’t really have any flavor and that’s the main thing I’m always looking for in a burrito is for the meat to be very flavorful. Once again, it’s just a personal thing of mine and this burrito was still good but the hunt continues…."
