"I normally have a good experience at this location. They only have 1 check out person. Tonight it was someone different and he was rude! He told me my total, and I asked "I will get the sales prices when I scan my Amazon Prime Card, correct?" He shrugged his shoulders and said "we'll see." I also bagged my own groceries which is fine but when I needed another bag he just handed me my receipt. I had to ask him twice for another paper bag, and he just tossed my stuff in there. No "have a nice day" or thanks for shopping here" like my usual check out guy. I've worked in customer service for years, and I've had to always stay cheerful and just be a kind human being despite of what I'm going through personally. There are 2 or 3 really kind cashiers, and I missed them tonight."
"Visiting for the first time was certainly an experience! If you're a Prime member, be sure to open that Amazon app on you phone and bring up the entry code for the gate scanner. That way the hundreds of cameras and sensors throughout the store can watch you out items 8bto you cart or your pocket and charge you for them as you go around the store. Apparently, when you leave, the credit card stored on you Amazon app will be charged for the total amount of the items you collected. I was somewhat surprised that the prices were as high as they were. Admittedly there was plenty of organic food and high end packaged food, but, wow..... I haven't checked to learn whether Prime members earn a discount, but you should check the teens before you decide to ship there. The store is clean, well organized and has staff about to answer questions and give directions. It will surely complete with Giant and Safeway, but not Aldi or Lidl ..."
"This location does not perform well. Staff deserves credit for making things right when they go wrong, but they should not go wrong so often in the first place. This review is based on seven visits to this location and two visits to other locations. This location (Fairfax City) has not had "reasonable quantities" of sale items. The other locations did. See photo of almost empty produce shelves. This location often lacks all three sizes for the salad bar. See photo. This location sold me an underweight and undercount package of cookies. See photo. Not 12 cookies and not 27 ounces. Customer service staff "made it right", but I had to drive 2 miles each way to fix the problem. It's better NOT to use the high-tech checkout. When I did, the system did not scan the coupon, and I had to go back to have it "made right." When the salad bar broke down for the second time in a month, staff went to the back and got me the items I needed. Kudos to the staff for "making it right" over and over again. There are fundamental problems, and Amazon should address the persistent deficiencies. Some of these would be so easy to fix, such as putting a recycling bin where the sign inaccurately claims one is (see photo). Until Amazon does, better to go somewhere else. Zero stars for overall selection, pricing, reasonable quantities and providing the advertised weight and quantity...and just about everything else. Four stars for staff patience. Overall, two stars."
"Great experience, first time visiting from Florida, and we love the concept put in the shopping cart scan code to enter and scan out and receive the notification of your receipt. The store is clean, organized, and very full of merchandise."
"This was my 1st trip to an Amazon Fresh store. It was after 8 AM, and the store was empty with Order Fillers milling around the store. I wondered if the store had just opened up but, after inquiring, I was told it had been opened for almost 1.5 years. It’s a regular grocery store except that customers don’t have to wait in line to check out. When you enter, you have to scan the card that is linked to your Amazon Prime account. Bags are $.5 each. You bag while you shop. Just be careful of picking up something then deciding 10 minutes later that you don’t want it. I’m not sure their algorithm can detect that an item was put back. There is a buffet and bakery there. When checking out, you again scan your card and the gate opens up. I did inquire about how long it would take to get my receipt and was told 30 minutes. Well, according to the time stamp of when I snapped the photos, when I was checking out, it was 8:35 AM. I actually received the receipt at 3 PM. Now, on of the down falls is that if there is a discrepancy, you have to wait until whatever time you get the receipt. Since the receipt is linked to your Prime membership, I am unsure if customers reach out to customer service through Amazon account, just like any other purchase. Btw: there was one (1) cashier there but 4 actual cash register stations. But I have to say that convenience is one thing but having that human connection is something that is irreplaceable."
