"H&R block as a company is decent, they will make things right. However, AVOID THIS LOCATION! Took almost my whole federal refund and charged $290 (double the cost of any other place but not the issue). Then my CT refund was lost in the mail or sent to the wrong address. Told by CT revenue services to file a CT-3911. Vic at this location said they wouldn't help me, and stated "your taxes were filed, you actually getting the refund isn't my problem". Yes, actually said that. I call corporate, they send me to a different branch to have the form filed no problem so I can actually get my refund. This location clearly doesn't stand behind their work, once they get paid you're on your own. Again , you getting your refund "isn't their problem"."

"I've had my taxes done at this H&R block 2 years in a row now. Last year my taxes were very complicated because I lived and worked in 2 different states. They really helped me out and their fee of just over $200 was surprising but justified. This year my taxes were much less complicated, but I had one question while doing my taxes so I went back. Long story short they charged me $343 for my taxes this year and I didn't find out the price until he was done plugging in all of the numbers. There should be a pricing estimate or fee structure given upfront before they start working on your taxes but there isn't. If I knew it was going to cost that much i wouldn't have done my taxes there. What' the point in getting a tax refund if they take all of your money? Very disappointed. I will never go back. Turbo Tax next year."
