Merengue Restaurant

"My fiance and I drove two hours to mass for date night because we were craving Dominican food and there's nothing in our area. The rice and beans and coconut sauce were amazing but I was really disappointed with the service. Our waitress greeted our table and got us water and we were going to order la insuperable for us both to share and the waitress said she could make it a smaller version considering it is supposedly a dish for 20ppl. I told her it's ok if it takes longer since I know it's a larger amount of food. We were happy with that and she brought us our rice and beans first and it was great. Fast forward literally an hour and 30min later and she hasn't looked in our direction, refilled waters, or brought us the rest of our food. One of the other waitresses went over to her to let her know we looked like we were waiting for something and turns out she never put in the rest of our order and just forgot about us completely. We were really disappointed and paid for our beans and left. After a long day I don't think we'll ever drive that far for date night again."

"I went there yesterday for dinner. It was only 3 people total in the entire restaurant and it took her over 10 minutes to come to the table to take my order then it took over 30 minutes to receive the food. The fried chicken was bland, no seasoning and fried too hard. The beans was flavorless as well. The rice was not good soft enough. The plantains was mushy and all mashed up together. I used to love their food but they have fell way off. Please do better service."

"Parking can be tricky but not super bad, I would recommend use street parking. Food was good temperature and the taste was also good. The service was fast and good. Only aspect that wasn't as a good thing as everything else was the bathroom, it needed some attention for example the lock was kinda messed up, but it shouldn't be a deal breaker, because so many other things there are worth the visit."

"I haven't been in many years and they never disappoint. Brought my husband for the first time and he got the stewed chicken and Spanish rice mixed with beans and it was amazing. The service is always good and the ambiance welcoming. Can't wait to comeback."
