Castle Cantina Tapas Bar & Restaurant

"We were driving through Leicester when this castle appeared out of no where. We decided to check it out. The tapas bar and restaurant used to be just called "Castle Restaurant" until it was bought and turned into a tapas bar a couple of years ago. The new ownership definitely didn't put any effort into redesigning the restaurant. It looks like you should be eating chicken pot pie and large mugs of beer but instead you are eating tapas and upscale Spanish food in a castle.... It's a weird mix. The food was pretty good overall. We got several tapas. Most were really good. The lamb was undercooked and served in a barbecue type sauce.... It was underwhelming. Drinks were above average. There was one waitress for the entire dining area so service was slow. We almost left in the beginning because of that. Overall not a terrible dining experience but you can get better quality tapas in a better environment in Worcester for the same price."

"It’s kind of a hidden gem in Leicester, by the lake which is very pretty during the day. It gives off medieval architecture, but it’s a tapas, so it’s a blend of different cultures. I recommend doing the dining for 2 which is about $90, you can probably for about four people. You get a lot of food from choosing 5 appetizer, or 3 with a charcuterie board, a paella and a dessert. I was stuffed by the end of it. I would say the guacamole and lobster dip isn’t anything special but it was still pretty good. Paella seafood was cooked with just enough flavors, it wasn’t too salty. Dessert was also good, I have a Churros, which were crunchy enough, but soft on the inside."

"The best lobster I've ever had! It was delicious and I love their sauce. Food was great, dessert and drink. I love the inside of the restaurant. For sure going back again and hopefully one day sitting outside on the patio."

"Amazing both times we have visited from beginning to end! Once for a Valentines day date then today for lunch! Servers are very helpful and food is quick and packed with flavor. Lots of parking and the patio out back is such a lovely place to enjoy a meal by the water!"

"Food was delicious on every occasion. The atmosphere is perfect for both adults and kids. Sue, our server, on our 1st visit, was exceptional. On our 2nd visit we sat in the bar area and the bartender waited on us. She was wonderful . The view of the lake and the atmosphere were very pleasant. There is also a fireplace in the bar area which added to the ambience. The tapas are great for sharing and very filling. The entree was Overwhelming!! The lobster was a whole lobster and delicious. The skirt steak was cooked perfectly. The potatoes and asparagus were both very good. Try it. I think you ll fall in love with the place. We have."
