Reviews of ACME Markets
"Follow Up: From (1) week ago… During my visit to the supermarket to speak with a manager, I encountered Albert, who avoided eye contact, lowered his head, and bluntly stated, "I have no idea what you're talking about." His demeanor spoke volumes about his lack of accountability. At that moment, Joe, the average Joe manager, was present and immediately exclaimed in front of customers and a kind employee at the cash wrap, "What you were doing was ILLEGAL!" This implication of criminal behavior in a public setting was the final straw for me. The empathetic woman at the cash wrap, who knows me well, apologized on behalf of Joe, the so-called "manager." I reassured her that there was no need to apologize for someone else's lack of compassion or empathy. People like Joe and Albert, with their unsympathetic nature, will inevitably find themselves in similar situations wherever they go. Now, I feel compelled to utilize the power of social media to share the abysmal experience I had at Acme, specifically highlighting the behavior of Albert and Joe, the so-called "manager." It is disheartening to think that these actions are enabled and perhaps even rewarded with a raise of some sort."
"I have been a loyal member of Acme for the past five years. Until yesterday evening, Acme was our family's go-to place for all our home essentials. I have gotten to know many of your wonderful employees over time. With over 15 years of experience in people management, contractual acquisition, corporate-level management, outsourcing, and retail to office transitions, I am considered a customer service guru, and my skills come with a significant price tag. Yesterday, I encountered an extremely disappointing customer service experience at your store. Two of my children were supposed to receive a $150 Western Union transfer, one of which was processed earlier this week by a helpful associate who even asked for my ID. My father, Anthony Ramsey, who shares the same name as me, sent the tracking number to both myself and the mother of our children, Isha Suarez. Last night, after a tiring day, I went to your store to process a Western Union transfer of $150 for our oldest child, who just turned 17. The associate, Samantha, instantly displayed a negative attitude through her tone and body language, making it clear that she had no intention of processing the transaction. I explained to Samantha that Isha Suarez is the mother of our children, and my father had been communicating with her regarding this transfer. I informed her that Isha is currently at home with our one-year-old baby, who has been unwell with a persistent cough for the past two months. I even offered to have Isha text me her government-issued ID, but Samantha adamantly refused. When I requested to speak with a manager, Samantha claimed that there was no manager on duty. I then asked about the managers who would be on duty the next day, and she provided the names of two individuals who, upon confirmation, were not scheduled to work. I insisted that she call a manager, and she contacted Albert. I had to explain the entire situation to Albert once again, and without any hesitation or thought, he simply stated that Isha would have to come in person. I asked Albert if he was seriously expecting me to leave the store, drive home, have Isha get dressed and come back out in the cold just to show him the same ID I could present right then and there. I reminded him that I was currently shopping in the store as well. In a lifeless tone, Albert replied, "yes." At that point, I left the store in anger but still proceeded with my grocery shopping as I had already invested my hard-earned money in your establishment. I drove home and shared this horrible experience with the mother of our children, who then got dressed and went to Acme. If nothing is done regarding the behavior of Albert and Samantha, I will take to social media to share my dissatisfaction. This incident should serve as a teaching moment for them as they are a reflection of your brand. I have decided to take my business elsewhere, to Hannaford. I truly wish you all the best."
"I bought two bags of bagels from ACME yesterday noon. And this morning, after I opened one bag and my son ate one, then I found all of them has gone mouldy, so disgusting and disappointing….I have photos, but couldn’t upload them…"
"Very organized and clean. The flowers , fruits and vegetables are always fresh. Quick shopping or shipping! The groceries are packed with care and delivered on time. If I have any issues the customer service is easy to work with and I get an immediate refund. They have the best price on water .I almost forgot--free gifts! They noticed we might like this free gift. Can't wait to try it. I reckoned the order and pick up too. It's a real stress free way to grocery shop!"
"Immense supermarket with wide selection of items at fair prices. The produce is kept fresh, and the delicatessen counter cuts meats to specifications. There are price scanners throughout, and a lottery vending machine at the exit. The section on plants and flowers is impressive, and staff is friendly. Parking ample in the lot out front, and the bathroom is clean."
