Reviews of Slavins Hancock Pharmacy
"I love this place. The pharmacy is excellent. They are kind, patient and pay attention to detail. I been using them for about a year for my mom's prescriptions, there is never a problem they are on top of automatic refills and their delivery service is excellent."
"They need to fire this driver IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!! I was headed home and this driver was completely unhinged!!! Swerving in between lanes NOT EVEN USING TURN SIGNALS. LITERALLY DRIVING in the MIDDLE OF A 2 lane…….yes 2 lane highway. Damn near hitting me and several other cars. When the driver noticed I was trying to get a picture of his license plate he kept driving off the road and ended up infront of me. No hazard lights or turn signals being used. Driving OFF THE ROAD trying to cut around traffic. Count your days cause I hope somebody sues you guys if that man is still employed. He could’ve killed somebody. Called and the manager didn’t care. I HOPE Somebody sues you guys for employing and KEEPING someone as dangerous as that."
"I use Slavins for all my meds. Im very sick and whenever Evelyn helps me I leave in a much better mood. She’s very professional, polite, and fast at getting my meds. She’s the reason I stay going"
"Driver came down our street on Saturday 12/17 @2:48 PM at 50 mph. This is a 15 mph residential street in Norwalk. He was flying down the street while we were out with the dog. Grabbed my dog for safety and had to jump onto the lawn and yelled slow down. He jumped out of the car a few houses down the block. Threw his delivery and stormed back onto the car down a uturn and sped down at maybe 55 mph towards the next intersection without stopping at the stop sign. Someone is going to get hurt. When calling to report this I was told there is no manager on duty. Was told the managers name is “ Shake.” If we see this again we are reporting it to the police."
"The staff is unmistakably rude, impatient, unreasonable, hostile, and intimidating. I was a new patient at the time and called them to provide my info beforehand so that when my Rx was ready, that part would be done. They confirmed my info over the phone and told me my Rx will be ready on 4/5. Everything went smoothly up until the 5th rolled around. Before making the trip there on the day I was told to, I made sure to call one more time and confirm the refill was ready. After being put on hold several times for just shy of 40mins, an older sounding woman picks up and was immediately aggressive and unhelpful. She kept talking over me, telling me all sorts of confusing and unrelated info. None of which she elaborated on bc she'd quickly move on to angrily relaying the next unnecessary piece of info. After trying to both politely listening and making repetitive attempts to explain that it's ok if the date I was initially given was wrong, mistakes happen (side note: I use to work for a pharmacy and have an incredible amount of understanding and appreciation for just how overwhelmed and overworked they can be, especially during Covid), but I was never able to get that far with her. I was relentlessly interrupted and yelled at. Yes, yelled at. She finally said, "I don't know what it is that you want so I can't help you anymore." And once again, before I can complete a full sentence, a man with an accent abruptly gets on the phone and goes right into also yelling, something about "federal guidelines" and other preconceived notions that he clearly formed while the previous staff mbr was shouting at me. I believe he said his name was Sandy, but I can't be certain bc of the speed and volume he used to communicate. I was really taken aback by the whole interaction. I honestly couldn't believe the direction this phone call went, and how fast it went there, all without me ever getting the chance to fully explain. The times I did attempt to jump into the conversation made them both undeniably MORE angry. There were also times I was just at a total loss of words. I wasn't just met with assumptions and unnecessary info, but with a level of hostility that came so sudden and out of no where. I cannot stress how unprovoked it was. This all unfolded simply bc I was originally given the wrong date. Such a minor and textbook error could've, and should've, had an inconsequential outcome. Especially for the customer/patient who didn't make the error. It wasn't just a bizarre and baffling experience, it was a highly intimidating one. For many other who struggles with certain illnesses, I imagine this would've been a traumatizing experience. Once I was finally, FINALLY provided the opportunity to make my reasonable request for a correct pick up date, his tone of voice swiftly switched into a "oh, that's why you're calling?" tone. Yes, Sandy, that's why I was calling. We likely would've reached that reason a whole lot sooner if this wildly unreasonable staff didn't rush to assume the absolute worst in their customers, and overwhelm them with info that stemmed solely from those assumptions. It was disappointing, to put it lightly. I was really looking forward to working with a friendly staff. Or ones who, at the very least, shows basic levels of professionalism. I thought it was going to be a one-on-one personable experience that these smaller pharmacies are typically known for and pride themselves on. It was FAR from that. Instead, I was outwardly bullied, aggressively badgered, and treated like a piece of garbage. I would never recommend this pharmacy. Ever. To anyone."
