"After talking with Mr Powell I am making a modification to my review to reflect this. I have spoke with Mr Powell about the circumstances of a poor interpreting situation that happened between him and my mother who is deaf I do believe from his conversation with he made an honest effort to communicate. That being said, after my conversation with him and looking at my paperwork I wanted to leave at least an improved review. I do believe that Mr Powell has done his own personal diligence but It does seem that he has too many pots and not enough hands. He began his conversation with me after we clarified the communication issues to explain to me that he has 24 employees and that they were impacted by the covid 19 pandemic. While I do understand that, as well as how it has impacted the timelines expected for tax returns the letters that I did get from his representatives in Connecticut were not in accordance to what he and I discussed over the phone. He originally stated that he had annotated dates and times of correspondence in the letters that he sent back and that my mother was the singular person contacted. The correspondence that his associates representing him sent me personally are as follows: Dear Andre, I have tried to reach you by telephone on several occasions. Unfortunately, we cannot complete your tax return to meet your time stated expectations. We are returning all of your materials. please find another tax preparer to complete your return for this year and all future years. Sincerely, Raymond w Powell, CFP, EA Hopefully when Mr Powell reads this he does understand that this is not in accordance to what he explained to me. He quoted four separate days and times and said that not only were these dates included but also that he disclosed in the letter that he specifically talked with my mother has the sole point in contact. As you can see reading above, the letter does not state anything of the sort. Additionally, within my tax return information I disclosed my phone number and annotations to contact me for clarification about certain finer points which I had hoped he woul; unfortunately foresight is not 20/20 but hindsight is. I encourage Mr Powell to talk with his associates and make sure that this is not a repeated issue for future customers. I wish him the best of luck in his endeavors but seeing as I was unable to partake in his service and the communication issues I am leaving a three-star review."

"Beware they have no CPA only tax preparers. Had taxes done here and came back owing $800 to the state. When mentioned to my dad he said something is very wrong since you only paid $123 last year called and mentioned we have a pass through entity tax credit and we’re told by prepared that it didn’t mean anything. Sure enough when we asked a CPA to check we have to file an amended return because we only owe $128. Office manager is extremely rude. Got no apologies. Office manager actually stated the preparers use Turbo Tax and just plug in numbers no knowledge of the tax laws it seems. Would never recommend"
