"I recently switched from CVS to Simsbury Pharmacy in light of supporting local and small business. Unfortunately, I had to remove my 5 star review and replace it with that of a 1 star. Now I know why I was with a place like CVS and not supporting local and small, sadly. Initially, I explained to the owner/pharmacist, Robert, that my Dr and I are still experimenting with which medication and dosage will work best for me. That being said, they initially filled my first 2-3 prescriptions without a problem. However, when we finally realized what worked for me, the owner refused to order the medication and said he will be losing money, which caught me very off guard. How do you lose money when my insurance or I are paying for the medication?! He then said to me, just go back to CVS, we’d rather not deal with you and your expensive medications. I was appalled and blown away at the fact that he said that to me, a loyal customer. Not to mention, my initial interactions with him were very nice, cordial and friendly, whereas the final few leading up to this event were very point blank, blunt, rude and he acted as if I was bothering and wasting his time and owed him something. Sorry, but if you refuse to order medication that your getting paid for, not to mention, I went out of my way to support you and your pharmacy and this is how you’re going to treat your customers, then the problem is clearly you, not the customers, as I am not the only one complaining and leaving a 1 star review! At this point, I suggest you avoid this place like the plague and stick to CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid or any chain pharmacy, atleast you won’t be played around with there. I also forgot to mention, it always took 4-5 days for them to get meds in that they don’t carry. Very sad, I hate to leave negative reviews, but this place really deserves it!! STAY AWAY! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!"
"This pharmacy is top notch--THE reason that we need to continue to support small, local pharmacies. Bob, the owner and pharmacist, is incredibly bright and helpful when it comes to thinking through conditions. When it comes to dealing with insurance coverage for prescriptions, he and the staff and extraordinarily proficient. They are friendly, dedicated, and supportive. Thank you for all you do."
"Simsbury Pharmacy is an old school pharmacy that is a jewel in our neighborhood. Great staff and pharmacist who are extremely friendly and become an integral part of our medical teams. They know our medical issues and help with treatment making suggestions and help keep our costs down. Often Bob will offer to even drop off medications to our home."
"Just another average day in Simsbury when me and my friends decided to enter Simsbury Pharmacy for the first time in my 20 years living in town. My good friend questioned the cashier and inquired whether they had dutchmaster cigars for sale. Instead of providing us with a locally grown and delicious commodity, thus stimulating the local economy, we were told that they did not carry them and would not sell them to us because we would use them to aid in the consumption of illicit drugs. This accusation was particularly stinging and I was shocked by the lack of tact and judgement by this young lady. Needless to say I left the store immediately and went to a fine local establishment, Sunrise Convienience. This store provided me with my dutch-masters and shockingly I was not accused of being a drug addict in the process. I proceeded to spark my Dutchmaster and drove down Hopmeadow street into the sunset. An overall slight experience."
