"HORRIBLE DELIVERY SERVICE! We ordered a washer that was going to be delivered on a Thursday. My husband works walking distance from our home and they came and went in 5 min when there should’ve been a phone call 45 min in advance as well as 15 min waiting time. My husband had to leave work to drive there and talk to a higher up which explained they used 3rd party services for delivery which regardless is STILL THEIR RESPONSIBILITY and they knew they didn’t wait or call at proper times. On Thursday, they then said we had to wait until Monday which we negotiated to Saturday with a non delivering fee, all is well and we felt that was fair. Got called again Friday to our delivery now being pushed until Tuesday. That means we will have gone TWO weeks without clothes being washed. We will never work with Home Depot again! Horrible service, not customer friendly. We’re canceling our order and going to Lowe’s."
"I'm doing a kitchen remodel and placed an order for all my materials in person at the Pro Desk. Got it delivered and found out my cabinet order was cancelled by the vendor because I didn't meet the minimum number of units. It would have been nice if someone had let me know there was a minimum, but no biggie, I re-ordered them and was told they'd come in in two weeks. I had to pay a second delivery fee, which didn't quite seem fair, but fine. Two weeks later on a Tuesday, the cabinets are due in, so I call Home Depot to ensure my delivery was on track for that week. Note: I wouldn't normally call, but the order was under my contractor's account, and despite copious notes to contact ME about delivery, I didn't trust that would happen, and rightly so. I was told the cabinets hadn't even shipped yet but that they would definitely be in that week, so I politely waited, and when they inevitably didn't arrive, I called back on Monday. I was then told that the cabinets had arrived to the store the Monday before (that is, the day BEFORE I was told they hadn't even shipped) and that the earliest they could deliver was Thursday. Any business that values their customers might have said "Geez, I'm sorry for all these screw-ups. We'll get this out to you today and waive the delivery fee." But not Home Depot. My husband and I were due out of town on Thursday, but he stayed home an extra night to receive these damn cabinets. And wouldn't you know, Thursday 7:30 PM rolls around and I call to find out they cancelled all deliveries for that day because it was inventory day. GAHHHHH! Pull yourself together, Glastonbury Home Depot, you are a mess!"
"2 stars because of the intense pressure the staff are under. I ordered online two days (3 text & email notices that it’s ready and waiting) ago for the convenience of not waiting — here I 23 minutes later still waiting."
"The Home Depot in Glastonbury Pretty good store. The customer service is getting better. Plenty of staff. Able to help. Stopped in to get some electrical tape completely missed the right aisle. a helpful employee was able to direct me. Picked it up went to the self check out paid and left. It is a bit cluttered in there though. Also this store seems to have a very good nursery."
"For a hardware store that blew up into a department paradise, home Depot still holds the key. Or the whole set of keys. I walked in to the Home Depot in charter oak place, West Hartford, ( where I used to skateboard in the 70s) for one and only one thing..... A thermometer to measure the temperature of the river and the lakes where I swim all winter long where possible. A temperature gauge is an extremely important tool for this past time of cold water immersion. I didn't have to walk far as I noticed the grilling department where they hung a bunch of thermometers. I picked up the one that goes from 50 below zero to 400 above zero and for $19.99 I walked out with a smile on my face. The service was excellent the price was not too bad it used to be under $10 but now of course everything went up. All around feeling is I would shop at home Depot again if I have something specific to buy otherwise I'm staying away and just enjoying my swims in the lakes and the rivers."
