Reviews of GoodHouse
"We had an excellent experience with Scott and his team. They were meticulous with putting in new floors in two bathrooms. When an unexpected problem came up, they resolved it quickly and professionally. We are very pleased with the work they did, including tiling and grouting one of the floors. We will surely use them again!"
"We would like to personally thank Scott, Anthony, David & the Good House Flooring Team. Our renovation superseded our expectations on all levels. The attention to detail, recommendations and quality of your work are impeccable! You were always professional, and commutative regarding the status of the project. We are literally in awe every time we enter our home. Thank you for making our dreams come true! You all will always be part of the Horne Family. -Steven & Dee"
"We hired GoodHouse for our home renovation project (dormer addition on our cape style home, full bathroom/laundry room installation, and full roof replacement). Things couldn’t have possibly gone any better. They finished on time and on budget. David and Scott were very communicative throughout the entire process. They brought in some very dependable sub-contractors. The GoodHouse guys were very respectful of our living space and cleaned up every day. Passed all our inspections without issues. And we’re so happy with the finished product. We’ll hire them to do anything we ever decide to do in the future."
"I would not recommend this company. We recently had our kitchen remodeled extensively, including the installation of a new hardwood floor. First, the installers gouged the new floor with their sander, causing uneven ruts and dark pools of stain on the finished floor. In addition, the final color was several shades darker & more orange than the samples we approved. Even worse, despite the written guarantee of a “dustless sanding system” per our general contractor—Design Builders & Remodeling of Ridgefield CT—who hired them, Goodhouse never cleaned up after they corrected the job. Neither, in fact did the general contractor. We were left cleaning thick layers of toxic sawdust out of brand new cabinets, appliances and even our walls and windows for weeks after. REPLY TO OWNER OF GOODHOUSE I believe, as an owner, that you do care about your customers. But since you didn’t come to inspect the problem yourself, nor did you ever speak personally to us about it, I can only guess that sadly, you are a victim of misinformation passed on to you by the people in your company who did work on our kitchen floor. If they had been truthful with you, they would have told you: • Unlike what you write, I spoke with them a great deal about my problems with dust, since I have respiratory allergies. • As you mentioned, since we are in the flooring business, we recognized, along with your company representative Scott—who actually viewed the floor personally & agreed—that the unsightly dark pools of stain were caused by uneven sanding by your men. Scott even suggested that one solution would be to restain the entire floor a deep espresso color to hide those dark ruts, something that is often done on older floors to cover imperfections. This was a particularly egregious suggestion, not only because we wanted a lighter floor but also because this was a brand new floor (see attached photo below of blotched floor) • In addition, the sample we approved was nothing like the color of the finished floor (see attached photo of how sample differs) • Thanks to Scott, your men resanded the floor & stained it a more appropriate lighter/less orange color that I personally specified. Despite your men’s objections, this was the right color. • Being in the business, we know that this is what all responsible flooring finishers should do when they do bad work. • Despite the fact that I had to stand up for myself to get Scott over here to have your men do the right thing, I would not have written this review if your men had cleaned up after themselves after redoing the floor—another necessary good practice of which my husband & I are well aware, being in the business. • We had carefully covered & taped down all our brand new cabinets, countertops and appliances with big sheets of plastic to protect them from any dust before your men arrived. When they left, every sheet of plastic was torn off, leaving a thick coating of toxic sawdust on everything. No attempt had been made by your workers to clean anything. It is a disgrace when sub-contractors do not clean up after their own work. • Again, because my husband & I are in the business, we know—and you too, should be well aware—that responsible flooring installers clean up after themselves. Any final professional cleaning by homeowners is to make a jobsite sparkling clean, not to clean up the mess that workers leave. • I understand that you did not personally witness any of this, but you should be aware, as the owner, of what really happened here."
"Goodhouse just completed a complete gut/renovation job on our kitchen . It included cabinets , tile, drywall , lighting and flooring . The process was seamless and completed on time and on budget . Scott and team were terrific from start to finish . Highly recommend this professional team ."
