About the Komodo Dragons, Bronx Zoo
The Komodo Dragons exhibit at the Bronx Zoo in New York, United States, features two of the zoo's largest reptile species - Komodo dragons and giant Aldabra tortoises. In addition to their impressive size, Aldabra tortoises are known to live for over 200 years, while Komodo dragons are the largest living species of lizard in the world. The zoo also showcases two rhino species, with southern white rhinos at Zoo Center and Indian rhinos at the Wild Asia Monorail. The illegal poaching of rhinos for their horns is a major threat to these animals. Adult male rhinos can reach up to nine feet in length and weigh 360 pounds, with horns made entirely of keratin. Aldabra tortoises are one of only two remaining species of giant tortoises. Visitors can become WCS Members to enjoy a year of adventure at the Bronx Zoo and other affiliated zoos. Don't miss the opportunity to book a Wild Encounter for a personal meeting with your favorite animals and their keepers. Reviews of Komodo Dragons, Bronx Zoo
"Outdoor seasonal exhibit"
"The lizard is real and right across from the white rhino so awesome"
"It's cold so most exhibits are closed. But you can still go see the indoor ones. So much fun on a random Sunday afternoon"
"The Komodo Dragons is dope! I haven't been to a zoo in years and it was so fun to revisit as an adult. The grounds are huge and you could easily spend hours checking out all of the exhibits. Everything is well marked and there are plenty of staff members around, so it's not tough to navigate. Favorites included the sea lions, the lemur house and the great plains where you can find lions, zebras, ostriches and giraffes. I am knocking off a star because we were a bit disapointed to find out that not all exhibits were open, including the monkeys which I was really looking forward to seeing. Not many food or drink kiosks were open either. You can tell that things slow dow during a weekday visit. I do think they should mention this prior to buying tickets, or perhaps offer a discounted price for non-peak hours. Nonetheless, this is a fun and different activity and was perfect for our team outing. Our group had a great time galavanting around the zoo and I could definitely see myself returning."
