Reviews of Hayes Happy Dog Boarding DayCare & Training
"I spoke with Nora about her "training methods" for loose-leash walking and mouthing. To me, it was evident that she knows nothing about animal behavior and how to discourage unwanted behavior. She's a big fan of electronic devices and prong collars. There are better ways to deal with leash issues, believe me. Furthermore, her own goldens, while extremely sweet, due to the breed, are poorly trained themselves and frequently attempt to grab food out their owner's hands. This is typical of an untrained golden retriever, who is basically an eating machine if left to his own devices. Nora's calling herself a dog trainer is false advertising at its finest! Stay away from this very odd woman."
"Nora's day care was a great fit for my anxious doberman. Nora does a great job matching and introducing new dogs. My girl appreciated her own safe space (yes, a crate) during breaks. With Nora's help and my dedication, my girl got her Canine Good Citizen certificate! I also don't let my dog do her business anywhere, just because they are 'outside'. Who lets their dog go into someone else's yard to pee on their plants, trees, lawn furniture, etc??"
"Nora had two of my goldens boarding for about a week last summer. They clearly had a good time, had plenty of outside time and were kept very comfortable despite some pretty hot days. I'd bring my pups to Nora again in a heartbeat as I trust her to take good care of them by keeping them safe and by keeping their minds engaged."
"I had thought Nora and Emma were running a high quality daycare for my dog. However, her obedience style wasn't right for my puppy. He is a high energy working mutt and Nora seems to be better suited / patient with pure breds or goldens. While I think she had the best intentions, she really did not understand basic training for my dog and I've found great success at other local trainers. Thankful my dog is a good boy but disappointed that Nora's feedback and style made me feel otherwise. Dog training is hard and I wish Nora was able to provide more constructive feedback on my dog's nature vs. making me feel like I adopted a "bad dog""
"Nora knows dogs. She is a breeder of beautiful retrievers and will put her wealth of knowledge to work in caring for your pet. She quickly sizes up each boarder's temperament and bases the dog's routine during its stay on her assessment We board our older, eccentric miniature poodle with her --he does not always do well with boarding, He was a little balky initially; Nora was attentive to his particular quirks and communicative with us until he settled in. Your pet will be in a safe, clean, thoughtfully organized environment during his/her stay. I recommend this business without hesitation."
