Reviews of Eastern States Exposition
"This is such a fun place to go when the Big-E is running (every year around Sept-Oct). Entry fee is pretty reasonable (we paid $20). Parking was extra (would recommend carrying cash for this). Lot of great food vendors everywhere we went and all of them accepted cards. Some placed the food was pricey but that is expected when you are at a fair. There were also buildings focusing on state specific vendors which was really cool.. A great place to take your kids if you want to see animals of all kinds. There were kids from local 4-H programs with their animals which was really cool to see. Especially the various pure bred dogs that were in attendance. The circus show which is free was also pretty good. They have 3 shows through the day and first come first serve seating. I would definitely recommend checking the schedule so you don't miss it. We drove and went on the last weekend so traffic was really bad trying to get into parking lots. So I would recommend going earlier in the day or right when they open the fair for the year. Great fun for adults and kids alike."
"Great place and event... but they need to think of finding solutions to the bottle neck that occurs and causes massive delays. I spent over 1hr sitting in a car on one street. There's a high school about 2 miles away maybe ppl could park there and Big E offers a shuttle services. It was extremely tiring. I almost turned back to go 1.5hr back to my house."
"I love The Big E!!!! Amazing food, great entertainment, fun & games, farm animals, circus, great shopping deals & friendly people. My only con was the horrible traffic on the last day- Oct. 1st. I drove in 2 hour traffic just to park. The Police Offices need to regulate the traffic better, too many cars cutting in & driving recklessly. Overall, once inside I had a GREAT time. I went 2x, my 1st time there was no traffic but it was rainy & very cold. I recommend going 2x to fully enjoy all that The Big E offers. I love the train ride around The Big E & the state houses as well. I recommend going in the week, weekends are too busy, overcrowded & horrible traffic."
"A new must visit every year. This year was year 2 for us. Again it did not disappoint. Every type of fair food you can imagine. Tons of vendors to shop around. Visit the New England state houses. A little disappointed with the Maine state house. Every State but Maine had law enforcement representing their state."
"A terrific experience. Parking was simple for us to find. As a Veteran I was able to enter free on opening day and everyone else only had to pay $12. We wandered for 4 hours and saw most of the expo though as Seniors we had no interest in the Midway. Lots of people and tons of entertainment. We went through each of the New England States buildings which was really fun. Lots of regional foods as well as many standard fair junk foods. We also liked the petting zoo, watched aome dresage with beautiful horses. We happened to be there for the parade and watching how the children reacted was a delight. Highly recommended!!"
