"We never had been to the Tavern but I knew my fiancé wanted to give it a try…..I made a reservation for two to celebrate his birthday… upon arriving we went into the restaurant which was very warm and comfortable but we stood there for way too long before someone greeted us. Finally a very friendly and upbeat server did acknowledge us and seated us in the bar area in a booth… again I’ll say I MADE A RESERVATION FOR THE TWO OF US.. not really in a bar setting. The food was mediocre, nothing to write home about…and truly the service also was less than mediocre BUT the waitress (server) was over the top!! She was very friendly and accommodating, almost as if we knew her forever!!!! She made our night! Thanks Lisa!!!! ♥️"
"The room is welcoming and comfortable, sadly that's where the positives end for me. On arrival we had to search out someone to seat us (they were chatting by the fire). Food was good generally but with highs and lows so it rather depends on what you pick. The big annoyance was the service. To have your main course brought while your starter is still in place is dreadful. After juggling plates to be asked to remove your used cutlery for reuse is remarkable. Training is much in need."
"The table we were seated at had many visible crumbs. I asked the staff who seated us to please clean it. Nobody ever did. The table also had leftover water glass, plate etc from previous patrons that were never removed. The first course had one out of three soups wrong. The main courses arrived staggered, with one coming 10 min before the other two diners' entrees. The metal plate warming cover was left on the first diner's plate, which is not normal hospitality practice. The "vegetable medley" on this first entree was not just undercooked, it was quite literally raw, never met a hot pan. When the other two entrees came they were not the wntrees ordered. One was left on the table so that the diners would have sustenance while staff sought out the actual dishes the diners had requested. At this point we inquired if the second course would be arriving? Because the third course was already sort of on the table. Apologies. Two second course salads were then brought for the three diners to have access to, though they were not the 2nd course options that had been ordered. Water glasses were never refilled. No rolls with butter, as promised on the menu, ever materialized. When desert came it was oddly jammed onto the table in front of each diner without first removing dinner plates, I.e.clearing the table. No coffee or tea was offered with desert though lukewarm coffee was delivered when the diners inquired. No adjustment to the bill was offered. This was Thanksgiving special menu. The food wasn't horrible overall but really it was such a debacle it was comedic. Could have been a reality show."
"Food was very good and the service was great. Lisa was fantastic and has an awesome personality! (and she's hot!)"
