"Food was good just felt that based on the number of people eating at tables and the amount of staff there appeared to be, the service could have been a little quicker and attentive. Same thing with the bar, There were 3 bartenders and it took several minutes before someone came to us. They were all on one side drying and looking. We had to actually flag em down even after one of them looked at us with a blank stare"
"Had a great dinner here! Recommended to try from very close friends…knew that Polpo was consistently great so wanted to give this place a try. Ordered the mussels - delicious and great portion! I had the homemade cavatelli w sausage and broccoli rabe…so good! And the veal chop my husband ordered was amazing and cooked to perfection! The Rosa apple blossom dessert was a lovely end to the night- and we even met the owner who was so gracious he sent over some drinks to really top off the evening! All in all a fabulous dinner - we will definitely go again!!"
"Went several times-when it first opened and in the following months. We were glad to see the space used again, we used to really like Centro. Lion Brasserie is not the neighborhood place that Centro was. It’s hugely overpriced, for not spectacular food. Very heavy fare, very limited meatless options. But the reason I won’t return is that the last time we were there the owner out and out screamed at several staff in the middle of the dining room. It was early and most tables were empty, but the diners at the five or so tables that were eating all stopped speaking and watched the owner as he belittled his staff. If he behaves like that in front of his clientele, what must he be like before the doors open for business? I won’t go to Polpo again (which I prefer in the way of food to this place) either. I see no reason to patronize that owner’s restaurants."
"The best word to describe this experience is scrumptious. We started off with the chop salad. Then I had a burger without bread, medium rare, of course and this came very much to my liking. Moist places over cook the medium rare and then it’s no fun to eat. My friend had the Bronzino, which I had a little bite of, and it was melt in your mouth good. we had broccoli rab and sautéed mushrooms for sides. Both dishes I had a heavy amount of garlic, which we liked, but just be aware of in case you don’t. The service was excellent and they were very knowledgeable of their gluten-free options. That’s important to us because my partner in crime and eating is totally gluten-free."
"From the moment you walk in the door you are greeted with such warmth and welcoming. As you transition to the bar, they set the tone for an evening of wonderfulness. My only issue was I needed to close out the bar tab before heading to my table. The food quality, ingredients and value are spectacular. A lot of the menu items are things I cannot find prepared in CT. On that note I felt as if I was in NY. This is a 5 star restaurant with a wonderful casual feel. There's an amazing piano bar as well for after dinner drinks. The restaurant was a place I found myself lingering all night."
