"The food is mouth watering ,finger licking flavors ,tummy nice full after Delicious food . Great portion serving sizes too."
"So had surgery and could not cook. I wanted southern food and I must say… the fish sandwich, Mac and cheese, collard greens, cabbage, candied yams, and chicken rasta pasta was huge hit for my family. The portions were health, and the watermelon kool aid hit the spot!!! Do walk, but run to Hills Kitchen!"
"It seems like they really don't care. Service was terrible, some of the food was really good, some ok. My problem is they were out of a lot, and shady about it. I ordered takeout on Friday around 3:45pm, and they were out of a lot of stuff, they subbed my main entree I ordered without telling me and I didn't find out until I got home. The owner wasn't professional. The lady who took my order and made my chicken was nice. Overall, I don't recommend. Service: Their online ordering system was down or turned off, so I drove there, walked in and ordered and waited in the place. I looked at the menu and looked at the stuff in the case in the front, they were out of two things that I had really wanted, banana pudding and potato salad. I told them I needed a minute to look at the menu, and I was waiting on my BF to text me his order. I have a couple questions about one of the cakes I saw in the case, and I didn't get a straight answer. At that point I should have just walked out, but I really felt like comfort food on a cold rainy day. So I stayed, and I regret it. I was waiting for my boyfriend to text me what he wanted, he wanted the same thing I did. So I ordered two chicken dinners, with mac and cheese and candied yams. I also wanted collard greens, so I ordered an extra side of those, but they were out, she said it would be an hour wait for the collards to finish cooking. I said no thanks, just the dinners. They asked if that was it and I said two drinks unless you have banana pudding, and she said okay, but never said whether or not there was banana pudding. While I was waiting there, the owner was having a personal phone conversation with somebody the entire time in the area where customers are. Someone called and asked if the sides came with the wings. When she hung up she complained to me about that customer wanting stuff for free. Then a woman came in (possibly the one who called) and asked questions about the wings, and they said the sides were not included with the wings. But, if she bought a fried chicken dinner and wanted wings, that would come with sides, and they would do wings for her instead of a leg and thigh, they were out of white meat. They didn't tell me this when I ordered 2 fried chicken dinners. When my stuff was ready, the worker who made it bagged it nicely so it wouldn't tip over. I paid for my stuff with the owner, left a small tip and thanked the worker for my food, said good night to them as I left and they didn't respond. I got home and I opened both our dinners, and they were both wings and not real fried chicken, and there was no cornbread, which they said comes with all of their meals. I was so pissed! Mostly because they didn't tell me. I was sitting there waiting for my food for 20 minutes in their place and they never told me that they were out of cornbread or that my dinners were going to have to be wings instead of actual chicken pieces. I might have still got them, or had them tossed in buffalo sauce, or picked something else from the menu. The Food: Admittedly the wings were pretty good, just not what I wanted. I was looking forward to big pieces of chicken, and cornbread and perfect bites of yams, mac and collards all together. The mac and cheese was creamy but way too peppery-it was hard to eat. The candied yams were really good. Cornbread would have been nice but I didn't get any. Vibe inside: unwelcoming. There's a small loveseat in the window facing the counter and two high top tables that are pushed together, covered with a tablecloth, but also in stuff for the owner to use to do business, not really like available for people to sit and eat at. I sat at one of the high top chairs while I was waiting for my stuff to be ready. The little decorations and things under the chalkboard were covered in a blanket of dust, and so many people wrote on the good vibes chalkboard that you can even read what people had written. It hadn't been cleaned off in a long time. They really are giving the vibe that they don't want you to stay."
"heard about this spot from my sister and wanted to try.. i’m glad i did! i ordered the fish platter with mac & cheese and greens. i got a side of fries as well to give to my niece. the fish is a little too salty for me but that’s only because i have a low tolerance for it but can’t deny it’s seasoned. the sides though! that mac and cheese with the greens was so good! love the tartar sauce too!"
