Reviews
"Update to my review. I was not late. You were. Additionally… Reread your comments. You’re very unprofessional and nasty. Why would anyone want to visit your “spa” ? To get aggravated and fight with you online?? Case and point. Anything with the word Spa in the name should have a positive and loving experience. Not a nasty comment after you were late, probably in traffic from Queens. I’m glad I went somewhere else so that you didn’t take your anger and aggression out on me during the service and then bang me out on pricing. Word to the wise for anyone who is planning on visiting your shop…in my experience the owner was so nasty to me and I won’t be returning. See below for my first original post and the example of his arrogant response. Feel free to post your recording of you calling me honey and being nasty. Also the recording of you pulling in as we were waiting in the lot since 9:30 and even went up to your shop window, which had an “open” sign posted. —————— Original post: Called yesterday to schedule an appointment for today at 9:30. I was only asked my name and not told that the shop opens at 10 am. No big deal, my friend and I had breakfast next door. At 9:35ish we decided to go get a quick coffee. As we pulled out, we watched the workers and the white van that they arrived in, pull into the spot. My friend and I figured they would need time to get settled before they open at 10 am. Again we didn’t realize they opened at 10 am. Once we pulled out, I received a hostile and nasty phone call. The owner said “when are you coming? We open at 10 am honey…you spoke to ME yesterday. We open at 10“ I asked “do you not want me to return? I’m just going to get coffee I’ll be right back”. If he opens at 10 and it isn’t even 10 yet…why is he now in a hurry to have me return? After asking him why he was yelling at me he said “you know what, yeah don’t come back”. Who speaks to customers like that? It’s not my fault you’re traveling all the way from NY in traffic and you’re mad. I won’t be back and there are plenty of better rated salons in Newtown. Read the other terrible reviews. They’re right on point in terms of my experience. I’m assuming I spoke to Kevin, the owner as he calls everyone “Honey” in a nasty condescending manner."
"Kevin and Blue Nail Spa is the best nail salon I have ever been to. I've been coming here for many years. Always professional and friendly. Kevin does nails, especially gel manicures, that last weeks! I bring designs and Kevin always says he can do the design, no matter how complex and no matter how busy the salon is. Complimentary back massage is the best. Pedicures are also spot on! Highly recommend coming here. This is a professional business and Kevin is the best!!!"
"An actual scam, they wouldn't stop giving me massages, didn't even tell me it cost 10 dollars for 10 minutes until after the fact. The manicure wasn't even that good, and it just felt like they did NOT CARE, and their only intention was to scam the hell out of you. Don't come here, you'll waste a lot of money for the most miniscule things."
"It was the worst pedicure I’ve ever had in my life!!! Usually they pull out a menu and never asked what kind of pedicure I wanted the girl Nancy was very rude and didnt say anything to me she didn’t ask if I wanted my callous’s done which I did she just left me sitting with wet nails now I have to go somewhere else and pay double to get it done correctly stay away!!! When I told them how dissatisfied I was they didnt offer anything to make it right just stared at me keep your hard earned money don’t waste it here she couldn’t even give the back rub that supposed to be complimentary or take the paper from my toes horrible I wish I could get a refund How dare you lie! She didn’t say two words to me I NEVER asked for a regular pedicure!! For the over 10 years I was a customer I had never gotten a regular pedicure. I was also over charged when paying cash. I was willing to spend several hundred dollars to pamper myself and was treated horribly by everyone in the salon. I’m not the only person who has had this experience. The customer service is awful. If you don’t want a bad review treat your customers with respect, don’t ignore them and hide in the back and lie and said you heard someone ask for a regular pedicure when you weren’t even in ear shot. I still remember how rude Nancy was from beginning to end and when I tried asking for the pedicure menu she blatantly ignored me. She hurt me didn’t perform the service correctly regardless of add ons and I didn’t get the services that were advertised even with a regular pedicure. You’re lucky I don’t report false advertising. Don’t waste your time or money go somewhere else"
"Got a fill here Saturday, I decided to try them, never been before, came in with a full set from 3+ weeks ago, all nails where on and no chips from my prior place (in other words no nails needed to be replaced, just a simple acrylic fill and paint). I was charged $72, for a fill! They said it was because of my “design” which you can see is a French design, he said $40 for fill, $25 for “design”. I paid and tipped with no complaints because I liked them and if that’s their price then fine. By the following Monday (9 days old) 3 of my nails were very badly chipped, I went in Monday to get them fixed, the lady was super nice and fixed them, but 2 days later 2 more nails chip (one was from original date but the other was one she had just fixed Monday- see in pic). I will never go back there, so expensive/I felt overcharged and their polish doesn’t stay on."
