"The waitstaff wear hickory stripe overalls! Portions are a bit small, but the whiskey bread pudding lives up to the hype. There’s now a vegan sandwich option!"
"Delicious food, nicely presented. Wait staff were friendly and happy to point out the unique features of this former train station. Fried pickles were very good if that's your thing. Loved the Whiskey Bread Pudding for dessert."
"A very pleasant surprise! My boyfriend and I along with my service dog ate here for my first time as I’m from Ct. & he’s from Ma. It was getting dark but I could still see the locomotive and carriage and enjoy the inside of the restaurant. He always has something special to surprise me with when I come up and this was no exception. The food, atmosphere, service and staff were amazing and do not disappoint! We were seated in a wonderful spot of the huge room in a quiet corner which I really thought was quite lovely of our host and my dog was able to relax under the table as we enjoyed our meal. Everything was deliciously prepared and we took home some of the meals as the amount of food won’t disappoint even the most hungry of your guests. From outside to inside this lovely restaurant is a relaxing and warm experience for all and priced on point $$$1/2. I look forward to returning again and trying their pulled pork recipe which seems to be a favorite here. It was a very tasty and relaxing meal-we both could actually have a discussion without having to yell over the din of a well seated restaurant which really was a pleasure and made this evening one to remember. Thank you sweetheart for another wonderful evening-at a wonderful restaurant!"
"Steaming Tender is one of my favorite restaurants. The ambience of a period train station, the quality of the food and the service combine to make this a really cool place to have a meal. I had the baked haddock. It was flavorful and cooked to perfection. My partner had the red stuffed haddock with lobster sauce. The presentation was excellent. The meal was flavorful and the portion was neither too large nor too small. My sister-in-law and brother-in-law had Surf and Turf, a perfectly seared and prepared filet and pan-seared scallops. Based on their smiles and clean plates, it's safe to say that the food was perfectly prepared. The restaurant can be a little loud, especially when a train passes by. The vaulted ceiling allows, both music and conversations to reverberate. I don't think that the noise level detracts from the dining experience. Definitely a good value, with good food, and a place we'll keep visiting every few weeks."
"The atmosphere is the best part and everything was great. They did an amazing job keeping the authentic historic nature. But also down to the details of the silverware. Our server was so knowledgeable and had amazing suggestions. The homemade cornbread with brown sugar butter was to die for. Many vegan options. Excellent drink choices and amazing cider on tap. Will will return often."
