Reviews of Baja's Fresh Grill
"Great tasting and fresh food. Friendly prompt service. They were extra sweet and patient with my little one who ordered her own food. Will come back for more!"
"On 01/01/2024, I went there to get dinner with my dad and brother-in-law. I ordered a chicken taco shell where we have shell fried and ready, and then you add a choice of your items to it. The guy kept adding a little bit of everything of my choice with no issues. Still, when it comes to adding sauce - he added a little bit of medium spicy sauce, so I requested him to add a little more as he spread the sauce and then close the lid so much of the sauce would go with the lid when I open it to eat it. Anyway, I was surprised when he asked me that extra would cost me $0.75. He explains that each item has an assigned fixed quantity. My explanation- I took less rice, less beans, and less chicken, then I thought it would compensate for the little bit of more sauce, but the guy was rigid and kept pushing it back, saying you would have to pay an extra 0.75 cents for sauce. Now, that is the crucial ingredient, in my opinion. No worries, I said I would pay. Then my dad said that he would have a just fountain drink along with me and my brother-in-law. After knowing his choice was limited, he decided not to have a drink, so I requested the same guy ( cashier) to remove one drink and only keep two drinks in the order - he said he couldn’t remove it. I asked why. He said you couldn’t change your mind and kept asking me to change the drink- then I told him to cancel the order, and we would go home - are you okay with it, or do you want us to buy the food with only two drinks? Then he realized he might lose us, so he said he would remove one drink from the order. My suggestion to the owner- 1. Please train your staff to provide better customer service. Two, your business is in Glastonbury, CT, not Rhode Island. 3. Please hire locals, if possible, who know people and the community. 4. Provide knowledge transition to the employee on maneuvering the POS system. 5. Ask your staff to smile during the transition, and don’t treat them like they are getting EBT benefits. We spent $39.99 in total."
"I pulled into Baja fresh because of the name. I had surfed the Baja off the coast of Mexico many times, so I just couldn't resist. The ordering line was strait and simple with most every type of Mexican fare on the big board above. The staff were all extremely kind and helpful, and none of the guys spoke English. Good sign!! Below was a myriad of stainless tubs with all the goodies. I ordered the three tacos for $11, and was amazed at how large the portions were. Shrimp, Pork , and Carnitas were the proteins. From there I added shredded lettuce, tomato, pico de gallo,Sour cream, cheese, Guacamole, onions, peppers, and mushrooms. All these fillings were FREE! When I took my first bite, I closed my eyes and thought I was back in Mexico! Baja Fresh is a most desirable eatery,a Low Budget, high quality dining experience"
"Not bad. Didn't know what you expect when we went in but it was a good experience and we will return soon. Good portioning for the price and they don't nickel and dime you for everything that should come on Mexican food. So worth the money. Pleasant customer service!"
"The food is very good. Not quite on par with "authentic" Mexican but it is 10 times better than other chain Mexican / burrito places. Lots of different ingredients and customizations to keep coming back to try. Most importantly they have Cali burritos that have the french fries inside, not easy to find those in Connecticut. Great selection of Mexican sodas. Fast service and they knew how to actually fold up my overstuffed burrito so it wouldn't fall apart, unlike some other restaurants. Restaurant is brand new, very clean and immaculate. Lots of indoor seating. Overall I think it's a big improvement over the Moe's that used to be at this address."
