New Shang Hai Restaurant

"There was a roach in my food and then they miraculously closed for the day even though they don’t close until 10pm. Very suspicious and I will be reporting. If I could give 0 I would."

"Ordered food from there today & it was nasty. No flavor. Ordered pork fried rice & honey wings. I haven't really been to a place with bad chinese food before. Maybe this time they just didn't do it right? Whatever the case don't wanna go there anymore. Honestly traveling alot like I do the restaurants generally in this area tend to be bad vs the same stores in other areas, namely dunkin & popeyes. Anyways the honey wings weren't cooked all the way through. If they keep doing that someone is gonna get sick. My gf actually got nauseous from the food & she likes chinese food. That is pretty much a bad sign there. Yo we literally had to put it on our stove & cook/heat the food adding spices to make it taste okay. & add some vegetables because there were non in it. (Usually you will see a few inside the rice ya know... they didnt even do that.)"

"Definitely one of the my favorite Chinese food in New Haven. One of the freshest and very good tasting Tostones, Rice, Egg rolls, General Tsao's, Boneless spare ribs as well as many more. Even though, My mom and other family members don't have the best digestion sometimes when it comes to Chinese food, they never have a problem here, ever after years of being a customer. No problems with the customer service."

"Decided to eat here for the first time and I have to admit the food was not all that great. I ordered the half chicken pork fried rice. The food was nice and hot but the chicken was not fresh. It looked like it was deep fried a second time and very greasy. On the other hand, the restaurant was very clean in the front and the kitchen, from my view I noticed. The lady in the front taking others was very nice. But the prices was kind of high for a semi satisfying plate."

"I ordered food from here expecting a delicious meal due to their rating. However, we found SEVERAL HAIRS IN OUR FOOD. The sugar donuts were burnt and the food was not even close to being edible. We even gave the delivery man a $5 tip. We will definitely never order from her again."
