"3 falafels in a "platter" for me and a sad falafel pita for my husband. The falafels were stale, the portions small and like slop, and we love Mediterranean food. I suppose they can always blame the fact they don't make their own pitas? Shameful. Never again."
"Found the food to be very average. Lamb over rice was sweet, which I did not like. The ambience was good."
"Came here with high expectations due to the ratings. must be a slow or bad day. The falafel was stale and cold, on top of some tepid cold salad and cool gamy spice-less lamb meat. same with the bland and cold stale pita bread. Just look at it. it'll make you feel sad. It's about the price of a 16" freshly baked pizza nearby, like I couldn't believe, for miserly portioned food that was flavorless and tasted like leftovers. for the money, it would be easily bettered in any of the local establishments nearby."
"This place is a New Haven institution. I’ve been coming here since the early 90s when I got my license and could drive myself here. I’ve lived all over the world and the US and the falafel here is my favorite hands down. The hummus, pita chips, chicken kabob, and baklava are also my go-tos. The food has been consistently outstanding all these years and you can’t beat the prices. It makes me laugh to see people are unhappy with the “atmosphere” in the restaurant. This is all part of the vibe and it hasn’t changed in all these years which is so nostalgic for me. If you don’t like it then order take out. This is a regular stop on my trips to CT. Can’t wait to go back!"
"The place is very good place for Middle Eastern cuisine. The falafel is very good. They have a place to set outdoors that is great. The main problem is that they say they have shisha, but its not good. Just don't order it. It took them 40 min to bring it, and one of the two that we ordered just didn't worked so we managed to smoke only from one. Still the food is very good.. loved it."
