"Great first time here. My husband had the tamale special with rice and black beans. He said it was excellent. Just as good as the tamales he had in San Diego. Ample serving and took half home. I had sizzling shrimp fajita served with rice and refried beans. Delicious and also ample serving. I took half home. We topped the meal with Mexican flan. Delicious and just right amount of sweetness. Big portion and perfect to share. The service was excellent. Will definitely be returning!"

"A solid 4 stars. The service was great, and the pricing is very fair. The chips and salsa were fantastic. Very fresh. The chips were served hot and salted every time, and the salsa was absolutely delicious. The guacamole was good, but could have benefitted from more acid. For our mains we ordered birria, carne asada and pork al pastor. Both came with sides of beans and rice. Overall, we felt that each dish lacked salt, but the flavors were good. A squeeze of lime would have made a difference, too. It was a nice fresh lunch. Worth a stop."

"It's been years since I have been to Señor Ponchos in Southbury. And it was every bit as good as I remember, starting with the best chips and salsa I've had since living in LA. I had a combo plate, the El Jefe.. Cheese Enchilada, Chicken Chimichanga, Carne Asada street taco with rice and refried beans, it was excellent! My friend had the Gringo steak special, and said it was fantastic. They have a great menu, and the staff were extremely friendly, they help create a nice atmosphere."

We were greeted by one of the owners and as quickly as we sat down received chips and salsa. Waiters were friendly and attentive, and the food was spectacularly delicious. I highly recommend ordering any of the combos on the menu!"
