Reviews of The Garde Arts Center, Inc.
"Beautiful place. Staff was incredible, nice and helpful. Clean. They are a small performance arts center. Get there early to find parking and get to your seats to avoid the crowd and lines at concessions. The wait was worth it as the area is small and with a ton of people can be hard on the anxious. Getting out was easy, the crowd kept moving so there were no issues. If the whole crowd had come to a standstill, I would have had an issue. I suggest waiting on the theater until the crowd has moved along some. Lights are dim and do not trigger a migraine or anxiety response in those of us with sensory issues. I always plan ahead and take personal responsibility for my issues however I like to point out when a location also feels "safe". This place did in a number of ways including layout, lighting, and security presence. My first visit there was a great success. I even won tickets to another show."
"We attend a show here at least once a year. Parking is always a challenge in the city. Bathrooms are clean and well stocked every time I have needed one. Concessions often sell out so you should purchase at the start of a show instead of hoping to get something during an intermission. Coat check has been available in the past and I have never used it so not sure if it is still available. Two levels of seating, I prefer the upper level but have sat in the lower level before."
"I had the luck of being a band support member here for the ELO tribute, Evil Woman and thus, this was my personal experience. A beautiful Vaudeville theater built in 1926. Awesome acoustics, huge stage. An authentic theater in all its glory. You don't see many of these art deco gems left, so it's a real treat to see the place shine with lights and music. The whole place had a great vibe, I was impressed with not only the beautiful venue but also the acoustics. The secret sauce is always behind the curtain, tho. The house staff here are the real stars, Queen Charlotte and Sara(h?) really made the green room feel like a home away from home. The back of the house staff was impeccable in every way. Everyone I met was courteous, helpful and professional. It was a great experience to see the place from the front and then the back of the house here. I'll remember it for a long time to come. Highly suggest, would suggest again."
"What a gem and a historical landmark! I have never experienced a more beautiful, clean, and even spacious theater ever! When one is in consideration of just how old this theater is, it is amazing. The only thing to exceed this is the acoustics and the hospitality of the staff! I look forward to returning very soon!"
"My daughter attended the Summer on Stage program, and she had a blast. I highly recommend the Summer on Stage. The Center is beautiful and offers many wonderful shows."
