"Good vet, reasonable prices, but watch out because they consistently have no sense of efficient scheduling of services, example- they will skip a heartworm test at the annual visit if it's not "due" for another few months, then force you to come all the way back for a tech appointment to do the test, else they won't update your prescription. They also don't put in any effort to sync annual vaccines so that you're not making extra trips and paying for extra appointments. You'll have to go out of your way to catch their lack of efficiency/math skills."
"This place is by far the most money hungry vet I’ve ever experienced in my life. You call to ask for an estimate for blood work for your pet, they want a surgeon to review your pet before you give blood work/X-ray completed (more money) I’ve tried to give these people a chance for years, but they always try to take all of your money. They know people will pay money for their pets. I would only bring my pet here for an annual check up… that’s it. This place isn’t worth it to me. Others in the area are better and treat my pet better too. I wouldn’t recommend this place… I’m sorry"
"My fur baby always receives excellent care here. She even gets excited when we drive onto the parking lot. Her recent boarding there had to be extended beyond my original plans, but she was in good hands, and it was obvious that she had received good treatment when I picked her up. The staff there is very pleasant as well."
"0 stars! BEWARE! Veterinary Malpractice!!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE! I took my dog here in September 2022 for an emergency visit for stomach issues and blood in the urine. His issue was not resolved and he came back with a broken back. I was told that they were going to take great care of my fur baby. THAT WAS LIE! I took him for an emergency visit because he was straining to pee, had blood in his urine, and not eating. THEY DO NOT ALLOW YOU TO BE WITH YOUR PET DURING THE VISIT. YOUR PET IS TAKEN IN THE BACK WHERE YOU CANT SEE WHATS GOING ON. They admitted my dog for treatment and when I picked him up he was sedated on pain medication (something that wasn’t discussed prior to giving him the medication). When he woke up from the medication at home, he screamed in pain, I took him outside to use the bathroom that night, he immediately fell over, and could no longer walk! I called the vet the next morning and they told me that he was fine at the appointment. I knew something was wrong. I repeated asked did anything happen during his appointment and I was assured everything was alright. My baby was in extreme pain, his neck was stiff as if he has had a stroke. I called multiple time and finally spoke with Dr. Boyce, she told me to bring my dog in for more testing because he may have a tick-borne disease. I knew that wasn’t right, he is on monthly preventative medication. They just wanted my money for useless testing. I called again and the vet finally told me that they had ran blood work on him and put him in the cage and when they removed him from the cage he was screaming anytime someone would touch him so they gave him pain medication. I want to know how much force they used when trying to restrict him for blood work, I want to know why this wasn’t originally told to me when I ask what happened at his appointment instead of being pushed to pay for useless testing, I want to know why they didn’t send him home with pain medication knowing that he was in extreme pain. On top of that, the reason for his visit wasn’t resolved. I WILL NEVER RETURN HERE. They injured my dogs back during his visit and failed to tell me what happened, I had to pry the information out of them. The recovery from this visit has cost me SO MUCH MONEY! I had to put my dog in a wheelchair and re-teach him how to walk. I have been spending $100 a week in acupuncture visits to fix his injured back for a year and we are still going through treatments! I now take my pet to Animal Center Watkins Park. At Watkins park, they found out that my dog had bladder stones (reason for blood in urine) and they recommended a new diet for his gastrointestinal issues. They also allow you to be in the same room during the visit and they recommended him to the neurologist that is fixing his back. APAW does not care about your pet and will injure your pet just to make a buck, BEWARE!"
"I used to take my lab mix here several years ago before she passed and I knew I had to come back with my current puppy. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Never had a problem."
