"I had a great experience when touring and moving into the Avalon. Mark was incredible, and the maintenance team, the app and being able to pay rent through Bilt was amazing. But, overnight the building was sold and taken over by new management. They told us all a day AFTER it happened! Yet, a week before they immediately stopping all Bilt and online payments with just a few days notice that left everyone scrambling to get cashier's checks/personal checks. The maintenance app suddenly went offline, and then I come home to new carpets with a whole new name of the building. My HOME immediately became some foreign place. It no longer felt like home. They had a new time to make a new website, rename themselves in Google Maps, make new carpets, but had such little respect for tenants that they do not tell us about the takeover until a day AFTER it happened? It is clear image and money mean more than those living here. The letter wedged in our door to tell us all of this gave no contact info, so I had to Google my own home to find who to reach out to. I left multiple messages and never received any response. It says if we want to pay rent online it now has a fee. It says 'you will find working with your new management and team to be a good experience' leaving us to guess that everyone has been replaced. This is NOT a good experience, and I would caution anyone thinking of moving here now. I work from home most days, and now they are running hours of fire alarm tests with almost no notice, which disrupts my meetings. I am left with a microwave and extractor fan that doesn't work, which means no cooking as the fire alarms are so sensitive that boiling water sets them off without extract fans on. My washing machine is not working, a light fell out of the ceiling on me, hurting me. I have a baby and no idea who to contact to fix this, or when this will be done."
