Reviews of Nutmeg Woods
"The maintenance person did an excellent job completing the work order, but the front door sweep still has a tiny opening on the bottom. It may seem as if the floor is not level."
"Maddy thee best, well detailed oriented and very welcoming.. Although I didnt take the apartment because of the commute, everything else was top of the line perfect. Hopefully sometime in the future I can make nutmeg my home. Thank you Maddy for everything!"
"Maddy was extremely helpful in our home search! She showed us an apartment that was a great fit for us and has been very helpful with all of our questions and continues to provide support through our process. We look forward to our potential new home and all the amenities that Nutmeg Woods offers. We love that there is a dog park, a community garden, laundry conveniently located near the fitness center so we could work out while we do laundry and the pool area is beautiful as well. -Caitlin Brehart -Elijah Myers"
"Zero stars. Not even a half star. I rarely, if ever, write such terrible reviews, but after reading many of the negatives for this place beforehand my words are justified. I regret that all of these reviews are true and we’re regretful that we weren’t/aren’t the only ones to have experienced the horrid conditions of this place. My wife, little girls, and I were very short-lived tenants in the area and decided on Nutmeg Woods only because we had to find some place quick after housing had suddenly fallen through for our family. What we endured in these three months at Nutmeg was an absolute nightmare that we wouldn’t wish on anybody. Strike one: We don’t know how anybody would pay $1,685 a month with virtually no upkeep for what you’re about to see below. We only did it because we were desperate at the time.During our initial walk-through we were quite skeptical because of loose door knobs, cracks in the walls, a creaking floor (no joke, see video below), and un-plumb door jambs just to name a few. (See photos below) Even the water pressure for both faucets was non-existent—reduced to mere trickles! Yet, despite leaving the apartment in very good condition compared to what we started with, we were charged an outrageous move-out fee. It took apparently our whole deposit (almost two thousand dollars) plus an additional $740 to cover the almost non-existent issues we had left behind (my dog ripped the shabby carpet that should have been replaced before we ever moved in). Four months later, we received one single bill for that $740 that was sent to collections after only a few weeks. We had a death in the family; I’m sorry we couldn’t pay one bill within three weeks without it going to collections! We received zero follow-up courtesy calls for the four months before the bill arrived, and nothing afterwards before heading to collections either. They had phone numbers for my wife and myself, as well as our forwarding address. It's sad to see such callous greed and unprofessionalism. Strike two: Why is there only one trash dumpster for this massive apartment complex? Seriously. It sprawls at least a few city blocks, yet there’s only one dumpster! Trash piled high within a few hours of trash day and continued to pile for the whole week, including the recycle bins. We pity the people who lived near the dumpster. The dumpster wasn’t centrally located either, therefore, it was a daily routine for residents who lived further away from it to drive their trash in their personal vehicle all the way to this one single location. Disgusting. Strike three: Laundry was always out of service. We wouldn’t have particularly minded this, but considering the laundry fee was $1.75 per load (before moving up over $2 per load), you would think there’d be some validation. Non-working laundry machines quickly became a problem with two children and indeed, was like a flip of a coin. Now, the apartment itself. We will let the photos and videos speak for themselves on the decrepit conditions here. Please see the descriptions of each so you’re aware of the timeframes. We have lived in several apartment complexes across the country and this one is by far, the worst we have ever seen. We sincerely hope that change will come quick and responsive for the residents of Nutmeg Woods."
