"I used to have this rated 5 stars because two months in I was naïve and thought the man helping me move in was a nice guy. DO NOT GET A HOUSE WITH THESE PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY AT KNOLLWOOD!!!! I never write bad reviews but the following are reasons that I wouldn’t wish living here upon my worst enemy. - When I tried to transfer properties within the community, while my roommate stayed, they refused to return my security deposit to me, telling me that I instead had to get it from the new roommate taking my place, to which they’d eventually return my security deposit. There was nothing legally binding this new roommate to pay me at all, but they threatened to terminate my lease if I did not cooperate. - Since I had already signed the new lease for this year prior to the above situation, I was prepared to just leave that in the past. As soon as I moved in though I found mold growing on all of my things within DAYS. My wallet, which I left on a DRY shelf for a day and a half ended up fuzzy, as shown in the pictures. Many other surfaces including my cork-board with lots of memories on it was absolutely full of the stuff. All that they could provide was a dehumidifier, which of course I am paying the energy bill for. - A weird yellow stain appeared on the ceiling right under the toilet of the above neighbor. Wonder what that was. Took the maintenance multiple weeks to finally paint over it. - Something in the boiler room just straight up exploded, blowing an odorous steam everywhere in that room, and leaving water all over those floors. I will say the maintenance crew handled this quickly. - Currently, I have a leak that wet the entire left side of my closet. The carpet is absolutely soaked and I doubt maintenance is going to rip it apart to address potential mold growth. They are supposed to come tomorrow and cut a hole in the wall to figure out where the leak is coming from, but with all that’s happened since the start of the school year just 5 months ago… enough is enough. Long story short, you would think these houses were built by the three little pigs if they had 30 crappy prototypes before the building made of straw. I consistently have to worry about breathing in mold spores, and while the maintenance guy really is sweet and mostly on top of things, there have been issues occasionally with getting things fixed right away. With these potential issues, expensive laundry, costly utilities due to electric heating, no street lights, and the main property manager being VERY difficult to contact (and incapable of having a helpful conversation without calling her boss every two minutes for help), I GUARANTEE that you can find a better place to live. As a college student who is just trying to get a hang of finding suitable places to live (with quite a low bar of satisfaction), I can tell you first hand that renting a house here is far from an easy and relaxing first experience."
"Faith was excellent! She was very professional, responsive and caring in helping us find the ideal apartment for our returning UCONN student and his roommate. I definitely recommend Storrs Student Living for your apt needs!"
"Shout out to Rita, Gabe, and Connor!! Very helpful in finding me a nicer and cheaper place to rent, even paired me up with a roommate!! Only downside is that heating bill is very expensive and you get billed for winter season's electricity bill in the last few months in Spring, so it was a little unexpected and initially frustrating...but other than that awesome maintenance service and overall help!!"
"With the help of a great leasing consultant, Connor, I was able to smoothly advance through the leasing/rental process with Storrs Student Living. Connor addressed my questions with lots of detail and updated me when necessary. He also gave lots of information which cleared about a lot of confusion with certain parts of the leasing/rental process. There was confusion at one point with Storrs Student Living, but Connor made the experience better."
"My roommates and I initially struggled to find a place as we began our process of searching for an apartment later in the year. However, our leasing consultant Connor helped us in the process and kept us updated as we found places. He was consistently reaching out and trying to suggest apartments based on what we needed. We were very grateful for the services provided and are excited to move in!"
