"I just had a wonderful experience with Gigi at Whip Salon in Fairfield. I am trying to grow out a pixie and had gotten it to be almost a bob - it was getting to be quite messy and I just hated the shape of it, especially the back. A different salon told me there wasn’t much they could do & I should just let it grow (while I was in the chair for the short hair appointment I booked ahead of time that I planned my day around) - I almost wanted to cry, I was so frustrated and upset by their attitude because I knew it just needed a little shaping to help me get through growing it, Enter Gigi at Whip Salon - she looked at my hair and inspo pictures with me, told me what she thought was best to get it into an actual style while still not doing too much to help it keep growing, and told me exactly what she was going to do. She listened when I said I am sensitive to round brush heat styling (I have a sensitive scalp) and too hot water - both of these she did alternatives (hand sculpting blow dry & lukewarm water wash). She was so easy to talk to and gave me some really good tips on how to help my thinning hair. The salon itself is also very cute & clean, plus they offer water or coffee while you’re there. Someone also called me ahead of time to make sure I was getting the right stylist for my short hair, which I think is just so conscientious and nice to do. Gigi was kind, talented, and generous and she got my hair to not only take on the shape I wanted with only a little bit of cutting, but she actually made it look fuller even though she cut hair because of the techniques she used. I greatly appreciate this experience with her & I will be back, thank you Gigi & Whip Salon for helping me feel better about my hair & myself! UPDATE: It has been a couple days & I’ve washed my hair at home - I can’t believe how nicely it just lays even with air drying (which is my preferred method). Gigi really understood my hair part and cowlicks in a way that no one has in many years. I’m beyond happy and in awe of what she managed to achieve with what little hair I had to work with & I’m excited to go back for her to work her magic once I’ve grown into the next stage of hair length."

"I hadn't gotten a professional cut since pre-covid, and my go-to was Urban Hair and co, I had become aquinted with the owner who was a customer at an upscale grocery/cafe I worked at years back. See, I don't do trial and error with things like trying a salon. A friend wanted to do something nice to help me out with a style update to help me feel better about myself and urban is gone. I fretted over what to do, I don't have time to go run into some fashion forward locals and ask where they go. So I kinda looked around Google for something to jump out at me. I noticed Whip was in the same location as Urban, and the description seemed to be a similar style/vibe so I decided to try it and I'm really glad I did. I found my new definite go to. She measured and showed me the amount of hair she was going to cut before actually cutting it. She would even tell me everything she was putting in my hair before actually doing it, which I really really appreciate.
