"This is my go to nail salon for pedicures. I don’t usually get my fingers done but today I went in for a gel manicure. My nail tech was amazing. She was attentive, shaped my nails perfectly and I appreciated how carefully she applied nice thin even coats. The color is pretty opaque so only two coats were needed. She also painted the polish cleanly up to my cuticle nail bed. And at the start she removed the previous gel polish very gently. I didn’t feel like she rushed it despite the salon being busy. The place I went before in Hamden actually had better reviews but the nail tech rushed and the application of the polish was uneven, chunky and left a huge gap between my nail bed and the polish. I am really happy I came here to get a gel manicure. And I thought the massage was the perfect amount of pressure."

"I started coming to Villa two years ago after searching for a local salon that offers the long lasting Dazzle Dry polish. I found the salon to be cleaner than others and while I’ve had several minor inconveniences in the past I recently decided to come back for a mani pedi. Went in on Thursday evening for a mani pedi and during my manicure service the tech changed the shape of my nail from square to round by not asking for my filing preference (a basic) and it wasn’t until I noticed that he panicked and tried to fix the few nails he could, which started my disappointment. As he was doing the Dazzle Dry, he neglected to use a fan to ensure each coat was dry before applying the next (standard for this polish) and the top coat was clumping so he had to redo a few nails. I was then instructed to go to the dryer and had to ask that extra polish on my skin be removed before I went to dry (another basic). I was clearly disappointed with my experience given the recent price increase but decided to let it go at that time. By Saturday morning my manicure was already chipping and I noticed the top coat had bubbles on my nails. Since I paid extra for this longer lasting polish, I called and they said I could come back to fix it. They only redid three nails and I had to point out that others were chipped so the girl decided to just paint over them instead of redoing from the beginning. I’ve come here for two years after receiving the Dazzle Dry polish for three years prior in Boston and believe the staff are not trailed properly on how to use this polish system as I used to have manicures last from 10-14 days previously and the Dazzle Dry website says polish lasts at least 7 days. Based on this experience, I will not be returning as the staff are incredibly impersonal and the experience has been anything but relaxing."

"Very clean place. Quick service. I've done a regular manicure in the past which came out nice. Most recently I did the dip powder manicure, which I do NOT recommend. My nails started chipping day 4 and two nails completely popped off by day 6. I called the shop when I noticed the chipping so soon and was told that the nails can chip in cold weather (it has been 60-70 degrees). By the next day the two different nails came off completely. Waste of money. I went back day 7 and had to pay for removal within one week of getting them done. Even the nail tech said that is not suppose to happen. There was no customer service or concern that I literally completed this service with them less than a week ago."

"Clean, friendly environment with lots of colors to choose from! We had an appointment and didn't wait more than a few minutes (unlike other nail salons). I love the dip powder and this is almost 2 weeks after getting my nails done! Not overly pricey and I was completely satisfied with the care of my nails. I'll be back!"
