"Read section 15 of the lease. if your room mates don’t pay you are responsible for the entire lease obligation. “ 15. JOINT & SEVERAL LIABILITY. Each Lessee acknowledges and agrees that s/he is jointly and severally liable for all obligations under this Lease and for those obligations of the other Lessee(s) listed above. The Security Deposit and any other payments received by Lessor may be applied to all amounts due from any Lessee. In the event of nonperformance of a Lease provision, Lessee may demand the entire performance (such as rent payment) from any one Lessee. Landlord shall not be required to accept partial payment(s) from any tenant.” Young people and their parents are putting themselves in financial jeopardy if one or more of the other tenants doesn’t pay. I would just suggest you approach this with your eyes wide open. They don’t expect people to read the contract."
"This is a good place for WCSU students who don’t want to live on campus. Every issue I’ve had with something being broken has been handled quickly."
"If I could give this place a negative number I would. They are the most unreliable apartment complex you could ever invest in. They don’t answer to your desire needs of pipe problems or care about you at all. The owner doesn’t know any tenants which shows how much he cares about them on a human side. We are simply dollar signs and he will screw you over with your security deposit and is on a mission to derail young human beings from their lives."
"You’re better off looking at Ashwood Valley or in Bethel if you’re looking to go here from Westconn. The photos accompanied here literally are not even photos of the rundown complex, please take a drive over. The landlord is not only incredibly unprofessional but impossible to get in contact with, as is the maintenance man. Something new is “broken” everyday after you move in ... massive washer leaks, multiple sink leaks ruining items, rusting showers, dirty appliances, ripped up tattered carpet, stained floors (everywhere) horribly fixed fire alarms - which are likely not up do date. Aaaand the list goes on. Not to mention the horrifyingly incorrect rent balance statements we received during the pandemic, for months we were told we owed thousands. I promise you, please keep looking. P.S. if you have visitors coming keep in mind there are only 5 spots for the entire complex."
