"Great haircuts for young men. Love how my sone looks after each cut!"
"12/29/23 Went in for a trim on my long layers and came out looking like a person from the 70’s with a layered med shag. I have very wavy hair and it takes me forever to style it when the layers are too short. I also told her I like to wear it in a ponytail. I can barely do that now. because the layers are so short. So I have to redo my hair every day because it’s a mess when I wake up. She also mentioned that older people look better with shorter hair. Not a very professional thing to say to a any customer. It was cut dry so I really couldn’t tell what the haircut looks like since they don’t offer styling or washing with a blow dry. I would not recommend this Great Clips in Middletown CT based on my experience EVER! Why would they ask you to email them my experience and name when I posted it in the review? I’m pretty sure they can look up who got my hair by my name on their computer."
"I took my 6 year old in to get haircuts for her and myself. It's a busy time of year and I thought it'd be easy to just get in and out without bothering with appointments. Well, that part was true. We had no wait and the stylists were friendly. However, the cuts themselves are really bad. Mine in particular. I basically wanted a bit over an inch taken off my grown out bob, which is slightly angled towards the back. When she was done I pointed out that she had changed it to be shorter in front and angle downward in back, which is not at all what I wanted. She agreed and tried to fix it but honestly it kept getting worse. I just got home and really looked at it and wow, it is laughably bad - I mean, if I don't laugh I'll cry. It's horribly uneven with random strands that are the original length. I'm going to have to fix it because it is embarrassingly amateur. My daughter's cut isn't as bad, but not what I asked for and nothing like the pictures I showed him. Hers is also shorter in front and longer in back. Going to a place like this is always a risk vs a regular salon, but I've had pretty good luck at the Wethersfield location. I will never go back to the Middletown one and I'd recommend staying away. Oh, and the cuts aren't even cheap these days."
"Despite being extremely busy, a lovely lady with big bubbly personality took my order. Everything was exactly as I requested it."
"We visited the Middletown Great Clips on Saturday, April 29 to get haircuts for my son and me. It was absolutely the worst experience at a barber/salon that I have ever had. I went first and the hairdresser seemed as though she was trying to cut my hair as fast as possible. She then began to hack away at the top of my head when I asked that only a half inch be taken off. When I contended that my hair normally parts to the side she pushed back, claiming that my hair was sticking straight up. I explained that was true, but only because she cut my hair so short that it resembled an army cut. To make matters worse, she hacked away at my son's hair as well and claimed that she may have buzzed too close in a section because he moved. Mind you, my son is 12 and perfectly capable of sitting still for a haircut. Perhaps her fast buzzing with the clippers was more the culprit than anything else. For $54, I was shocked that the haircut cost as much as it did and that we received such poor haircuts as well. This was our second attempt at the location as our previous one resulted in a terrible haircut for our five year old, one which required a second haircut from a barber in town two days later. It was an awful experience. Side note, I now look like Nathan Shelley (from Ted Lasso) which was absolutely NOT the look that I was going for."
