"Stop in for dinner on a Wednesday night. The service at the bar was great and friendly. My food came out quick and was very good. Got the gyro and kale salad. I would absolutely come back again."
"Had an amazing dinner here! Great food, excellent service (thank you Francis!), and stellar atmosphere (we were seated at a booth near a fireplace). Food arrived very quickly after ordering, and the dessert of chocolate mousse was delicious. Picture below is of the penne al vodka with shrimp."

"A really nice restaurant with a full bar and two dining areas. They also have an outdoor dining area as well. We stopped in before going to see a show. The food is really good and they do a good job of getting you in and out. We mentioned to them we were going to see the show and our waitress made sure our order went in quick and came out just as fast. The food is good and the ambiance is great as well."
"(Last visited 2/25/2023.) My wife came here for a Yelp Elite event a little while ago and she wouldn't stop raving about how amazing the octopus here was. I mean, that's not something usual to rave about and octopus seems to be something that can easily be messed up. So today we finally made it in here to check this place out... and here's how it went! Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right on the corner of Washington Street and Lincoln Street is this beautiful, standalone Italian restaurant with its own private parking lot just south of downtown Hartford. There are TONS of super cute outdoor seating for the warmer months. They're like lil' gazebos so you really feel like you're in your own private room, but you're outside! Once inside you're immersed with elegance and class. The lights are dim, there's shiny wood everywhere and numerous dining sections. It's not quite an open floor plan, but that creates the intimate setting that people want at a fine-dining establishment like this. Service: My wife and I sat at the bar while Kris took care of us. She was funny, smart, kind, super helpful, witty and made sure we had everything that we needed. The drinks were strong of course! Food: So we tried several things, starting with the Filet Crostini which are pieces of crunchy toast underneath shaved filet mignon, a pico de gallo-like mixture and a savory white sauce. There were delightful. The crunch of the bread with the savory-ness of the meats with the mixture paired together very well. Next up is the legendary grilled octopus, which is actually the very first thing you see on the menu. It is perfectly seasoned grilled octopus served over a bed of arugula. She was right... it was absolutely delicious. Meaty, tender and not overly chewing like octopus often can be. Well done J. Restaurant. Well done. For my entree I went with the Mediterranean Haddock which comes with feta cheese, spinach, tomatoes, onions and oven roasted potatoes. Another delicious dish. I can't even begin to describe the complexity of these flavors. You just have to try them yourself! Value: I mmmeeeaaannn... it's Italian fine-dining. It's not going to cheap, so know that before pulling up. Lol. J's been in business a long time so the food is absolutely worth it. My filet crostini was $14.00, the octopus was $22.00, my haddock was $26.00 and my wife's salmon house salad was $27.00 altogether. Come ready to spend, but don't be cheap. In conclusion, I totally get the hype behind this place! Everything was simply perfect and I can't wait to return here!"
