"It was really better to stay here than in NYC Nice rooms and good service. It was raining and room heater was not working so i requested young lady at counter for alternative arrangement and she provided us an antique fan heater but it was really working and good. Intercom was also antique and i liked it the way the are still working. View is also good and am sure best place to stay during summer."

"One of the absolute BEST PLACES my husband and I love to stay at when we are in Long Island and need a good fairly priced room, RIGHT NEXT to the beach! Rooms are great and cozy, beds are nice, the air conditioners sometimes don't work the best but it is compensated with the use of a fan, which in my opinion is perfectly fine. The front desk people are wonderful, I have no complaints about them at all! They are very kind and friendly people and if you ever need anything they will help you out with it. There is a little "convenient store" in the office where you can buy snacks, drinks, and various odds and ends which is great especially when you get the munchies during the middle of the night and don't want to drive to the store. They are very well located in my opinion to stores and such that are around the area, not too far of a drive to go for entertainment which I like. The beach is legitimately right in front of the hotel, just go across the street and you are there but if you don't like all the sand there is a pool right out back. They have all sorts of different sized rooms and other amenities in their rooms, so there is something for everyone at this hotel. I highly recommend this hotel!!"

"I looked for a room near Glen Cove, NY. The Tides Motel was cheap. I guess the saying you get what you pay for is true. The price was $99 plus tax. The room was clean. The windows had heavy blankets over them. The air conditioner looked as if it was from the 1970s. There was a tile floor. The bathroom was clean. The bottom of the entry door in the corner allowed you to see outside. Items in the room were labeled with tape that showed the room number. When I left the room and drove around the other side of the Motel there were families sitting outside with many children. It looked as if there were long term residents in the Motel. Last, the Motel office smelled like an Asian fish fry. Something that was cooked made a distinct smell. If you want a cheap place to stay in Nassau County on the North Shore the price is right. I do not think I would stay there again."
