"We had an amazing stay! Everything is very thoughtful and intentional, rooms are updated and cute. Free coffee in the mornings was lovely, and we were accommodated when we asked if we could use a firepit in the evening. The private beach is gorgeous, I’d love to be here in the summer! The lobby is cute, but closes relatively early in the evenings…probably an off-season thing. Easy walk into town (and they have bikes). Definitely recommend!"

"This is a very special place that has recently been completely renovated. Yet the owners have chosen to keep the spirit of the original, which must have been a costly goal. But the results are fantastic. The preserved pictures tell the story of a time gone by when things, at least in memories, were simpler, quieter, and more relaxed. The new owners let the place--North Fork, Long Island Sound with gorgeous sun rises and sunsets–speak for themselves. The beauty at Silver Sands is timeless and the current owners respect that. At the same time, they have created a five-star oasis for those seeking respite from our ever-busy, distracting world: Impeccable housekeeping–– beyond what any Hilton, Sheraton or the likes offer; environmental attention that doesn't skimp on creature comforts; a private beach; and spacious rooms. Each staff member, from housekeeping, to grounds keeper (Did I mention the impeccable landscaping?) to the waitstaff at the diner, Nookies, are friendly and helpful. My motel room was large enough to work in, as well as relax in, and the beach bungalows offer a lot of options for families looking for a place to have family reunions (I am thinking of this for my 58+family)."

"My husband and I were celebrating both our birthdays and our anniversary, and also were taking a much-needed break caring for a loved one in hospice at home. First saw Silver Sands featured on News 12 over the summer and made a note to visit in December. I love interior design and was struck by the STUNNING attention to detail paying homage to the era the motel originated in, with all the modern updates and convenience. Also notable was how warm, welcoming and personal the attention was to us and our story. Everyone knew who we were! The food served on site in the 50s-inspired diner was delicious! The views of the bay from our room were second to none! We'll be back with the entire family in tow!"

"This was a vacation seminar with friends of a lifetime. One could say we would have a good time no matter where we went. But this place is special...maybe especially for a Midwesterner. Right on the water with a long sandy beach; comfortable, spacious rooms with views and supplied with every amenity and a few select welcoming books; a small restaurant with superb local cuisine; common spaces and lanes everywhere; soft, tasteful background music in the lobby; and best of all as sweet and thoughtful a group of staff/workers/employees as I've encountered anywhere. ,"
