Reviews of Greenporter Hotel
"I stayed here over the weekend if Dec 8-9 for a wedding. The place was almost empty except for our wedding party. The locks on the doors were a real problem, our initial key didn’t work then we had a hard time finding anyone to get a replacement . Long story short I couldn’t find my iPad before leaving Sunday and was hoping to find it in my luggage when I get home . It was gone and after a 3 tries to contact management(1st woman I spoke to said I would get a call back -never happened) then called 2 more times before management denied any responsibility but my identity was hacked with credit cards , Venmo, scams all through my holidays . Also my nephews door was wide open but they blamed the maid . Over $300 for a room in off season with no complimentary coffee and a rude almost non-existent staff. Stay away‼️"
"Great location, very friendly service, small and cozy place with fireplace outdoors. We stayed in a double room, and it was pretty spacious and clean but had no view from the window and no coffee maker in the room. No coffee in the lobby, no free coffee at all, which is very sad for me because I am a coffee lover. Yes, you can buy coffee in the Terra Cafe if you wish. They don't provide free breakfast, but there are a lot of options for breakfast nearby. The location is perfect to walk to Main Street or the waterfront and a train station. If you need a peaceful environment for not big prices, this place is pretty good."
"The people that ran the place were very nice. The room is quite old and outdated. It had a very strong mildew smell. It permeated all of my clothing, noticed this when I got home. I coughed pretty bad for about two weeks after my stay. AirBnB shows as room having a coffee maker, but it did not. No ice, had to ask. The wooden floor was sticky to walk on barefoot. Again people running place was very nice. Outside are is clean and kept nice. Has a fire pit area, that was very cozy."
"I really enjoyed my stay. I booked a one-night exploratory stay so that I could perform some east-end Long Island business the next day, but also research this place for a possible future stay with my spouse and friends. I booked a Deluxe Double and was "upgraded" to a Deluxe King. As an Architect, I notice some things that others might not, and in this case perhaps a Lawyer would notice too: A bathmat and a tub grab bar. These are not just nice touches but safety items, and I applaud the guest consideration. Plenty of outlets and light switches with good lighting fixtures and light levels. I see also that this hotel will close for the winter months starting 15 December , and will re-open in Spring 2024 (mid-March), so this might be one of the last reviews before then. The only minor detail is that my receipt didn't match the amount charged, but it worked out in the end as I'm a whiz at PDF editing ;-) I plan to return and stay longer, and take advantage of some of the offered amenities, like bikes and pool."
"We had two rooms - one was renovated and one wasn’t. What a difference between the two for the same price!! The new room was lovely with a new bathroom, faux-wood flooring, and blackout curtains. The old room was very dingy with half of the carpet removed, aluminum mini-blinds that were kind of broken, and gross blue tile in the bathroom that was crumbling and peeling paint in spots. The bar/restaurant, coffee bar, pool, and lobby were lovely. But if you want a room that matches what you’ve seen in their ads or the exterior of the hotel, request a renovated room and you won’t be disappointed. Getting an un-renovated room for these ridiculous prices sort of ruined our experience."
