Reviews of Cosmetic & Implant Dentistry of White Plains
"Like a lot of the other reviewers, I also had a really bad experience with Dr. Katz . Extremely rude and unprofessional. He only cares for doing crowns ( he makes even the fillings to crowns because...fillings are much cheaper of course!!!) and the only thing he is interested in is to make you start the Invisalign (the most expensive he can!!!).He is not even registered with the American Dental Association!!!DO NOT GO THERE!!!"
"I am a long time patient of Drs. Katz. They are both lovely people and excellent Dentists. My experience is that Dori and Jeffrey are both knowledgable, skilled and courteous. They have always been able to accomodate me with any dental emergency that I have had. I have found their staff to be professional and friendly. I recommend Drs. Katz for any of your dental hygiene needs."
"I have gone to Dr. Jeffrey Katz for over ten years and never been disappointed. Dr. Katz is always personable, professional. He works very carefully and thoroughly. I recommend him. I was there today to have a cavity filled. Job well done."
"I went to Dr. Katz for the first time in pain. The medication, an antibiotic he prescribed for me did not help and when I reached him the next day to inform him of this, he told me to double it. Still no relief. Following that his office said he was not in and they were unable to reach him, nor did he check in. As I had an appointment with another dentist in several days (at his recommendation), I told his receptionist, I was not asking for a great quantity of pain medication, just a small amount to tide me over to that appointment, because I could not sleep and could only eat soft foods. His office never got back to me. The tooth eventually had to be pulled. Needless to say I will never return to Dr. Katz, nor will I refer anyone I care about to his office."
"Like some of the other reviewers, I too had a bad experience with Dr. Katz for the same reason--his (and his staff's) unprofessionalism, rude behavior, and most of all, his performing medically uneccesary procedures in order to charge my insurance company. I went in for a routine cleaning and was basically told that my teeth would fall out if I didn't get a deep scale cleaning of my gums and an expensive antibiotic. They told me that they would obtain a pre-authorization from my insurance company and then start the procedure in an hour. After everything was said and done, I was asked to pay for the antibiotic ($300!) because insurance doesn't cover it. I was surpised when I got a bill from them in the mail for the price of the entire procedure, and another $300 for the antibiotic I already paid for; they had tried to bill my insurance company for the antibiotic after already receiving my payment for the antibiotic! It turns out my insurance company was refusing to pay because the procedure wasn't necessary based on what Dr. Katz had submitted to them. I had to go back and forth with his RUDE staff to get them to submit x rays and periodontal charting to the insurance company so that they would pay. They also refused to give me a copy of my own chart. My insurance company turned around and paid a portion of it, saying that based on what was re-submitted, they determined that the procedure was only necessary on SOME teeth, not my entire mouth, which is what Dr. Katz had billed for. Long story short, I am stuck with the balance and a terrible experience with Dr. Katz--who by the way is not even registered with the American Dental Association. I wish I would have done my research before going to this poor excuse of a dentist."
