"My niece stayed here. The carbon monoxide detector and the fire alarm went off repeatedly throughout the night. When asked about the safety the female desk clerk only offered 2 solutions to refund the money or to call the police. It was the middle of the night.. don't expect hospitality here. ."
"I didn't know this place was still open! It's definitely an unusual experience, I wouldn't recommend it at all for children or families, but more just for adults (18+) & couples only! To be fair, I haven't stayed here in several years, but did visit sometime around the early 2000's with a former boyfriend & I'll give an honest review, as I always do. The rooms are unique & themed. For example, they have one with a hanging bed, another that's space themed, I think there may also be a Cleopatra room, or something similar & jungle room, + many others. You used to be allowed to view photos in a book of each room in the office, prior to paying for your key. Choice obviously depends upon availability. The owner at the time we went was friendly & hospitable. The rooms used to be per night, or hourly rates available also, if you were only looking to rent it for a couple hours, so say you had a babysitter watching your kids at home & wanted a couple's date night or something out. Our room was the Cupid room, which we chose because of it's romantic design. Everything red, they had a mirror above the heated waterbed. Dual showers, large mirrors along the wall & everywhere, cupid/red decor. I will say that it could use some renovations & updates to be fair, although the themes are all cool, just needs some TLC, because it looks more like 70's/80's style rooms, although we did think it was pretty cool. The jacuzzi wasn't heated as described, it was actually pretty cold, but I don't think we bothered to complain about it. Rooms are large & used to be smoker friendly, not sure if that's changed since. Definitely private. Good place for couples to have some time alone together in a romantic setting. Rooms are expensive, but again, this is not your regular Holiday Inn, Super 8, or Econo Lodge. These are rooms specifically designed for couples & that's why I commented on how it's not exactly "kid or family friendly". I don't know if they would rent to them, but wouldn't recommend it. I wish I hadn't read these comments that mentioned bed bugs! Honestly, we did not see any bugs at all during our stay, so hopefully that's not true. The rooms weren't the cleanest, but I wouldn't say they were filthy or anything, just needed a bit more care. I'd rate it 3 stars, mainly because we did like it, but we were disappointed in the cold jacuzzi & I believe the waterbed wasn't heated either as advertised. I don't know if they were having issues that night with their heating systems, but couples are going to want hot water in both the jacuzzi's & waterbed, especially during colder months! If they updated the rooms & kept them a little cleaner, I think they'd probably do much better for their customers/guests. The themes are neat & something different, if that's what you're looking for. Parking lot has plenty of space, easy to find location, conveniently located off of Memorial Drive in Chicopee. Plenty of stores & restaurants nearby. Not far from former Mass Pike entrances. Also not too far a drive from Springfield or Ludlow. Give them a try! Just be sure you find a sitter first if you have kids. Maybe a nice stay for Valentine's Day, or another special occasion. If you read other hotel/motel reviews, you will find that lots do mention bed bugs, but I have never had a problem with them here at the Pines, or other places where guests said to have seen them before. It may have been an issue in the past, but I'm sure if it was brought to management's attention, they would take care of it promptly. Of course if a place is bug infested, it'll lose business, because they won't have many happy visitors & clearly any business wants to continue making money & keeping people coming back, so think about it. As far as someone who complained in their review about a couple arguing in the next room, mind your business! People do argue sometimes & that's not the hotel or motels fault. Turn up your TV or something. Lol. Enjoy!"
"It had hair in sink toilet broken door no wifi blood in the sheets underneath stinks like cigarette I have asthma room dirty and stunk AC don't work jacuzzi don't work good. Charged 220 asked to speak to manager for WiFi she said she can't get a hold of him smh"
"Really rude lady at the desk they charged me for a key that doesn't work and never gave me a new one. Room is nasty has weird looking stains in the rug cigarette burns on the curtains and toilet seat. I was taken a shower and the water wasn't draining. People arguing all night in the room next to me. This is the worst place I've ever stayed at."
"No good. To expensive for the out dated rooms. No coffee maker or coat rack. No microwave. And the bed u can feel the springs. For 220 dollars it sucks. I been robbed for my money. Straight dump."
